'Naked Chef' Email Book Is a Fake

Monday July 28, 2003
'Naked Chef' Email Book Is a Fake''How cool is this,' begins the fast-spreading email. 'It's the new Jamie Oliver cookbook, it was sent out over email by mistake and is now circling the U.K., no need to buy it now.'  Attached is a Word document containing 105 illustrated 'Naked Chef' recipes that appear to be genuine — and are. However, no such book exists or will exist, according to Oliver's publisher, Penguin Books. The recipes were cribbed from earlier books and the cover art (see thumbnail at right) from the jacket of a 'Naked Chef' videotape released years ago. The document has nevertheless sent office workers 'scuttling to their printers keen to save the £14 cost of one of Oliver's official hardbacks,' the Evening Standard reported on Friday. Penguin says it is trying to track down the source of the document and may resort to legal action.

This is an old post, but this ebook is still floating around in cyberspace. Did they ever pursue legal action?
