Alligator Captured in NY Park

A yard-long, 20-pound alligator sighted off and on for the past few months in Blue Heron Park, Staten Island was captured and turned over to Animal Control officers over the weekend, according to the New York Post. Authorities believe the animal was an illegal pet dumped in the park by its owner after outgrowing its cuteness.  Cf. 'Alligators in the Sewers.'  More Weird News.
