Wal-Mart Shopper Says He Was Bitten by Rattlesnake

Authorities in Brownwood, Texas are investigating the claims of a man who says he was bitten by a rattlesnake as he reached for a pair of shoes in Wal-Mart. According to news reports, the unidentified shopper told store employees he stomped the snake to death after it bit him, but witnesses said the crumpled creature didn't appear to have been freshly killed. Update.

A male shopper was bit by a rattlesnake at the Walmart SuperCenter in Marana, AZ on March 19, 2007. He was reaching for merchandise in the outdoor garden section and was bitten by a reportedly 2-3′ Western Diamond Back rattlesnake. As of Wednesday, March 21, he was still hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
