Awesome Conflagration

The amazing photograph at right, taken by firefighter John McColgan near the east fork of the Bitterroot River, Montana in August 2000, is circulating anew under false pretenses — this time accompanied by the claim that it was shot in 2003. The image is perfectly authentic, but it's now more than three years old. At the risk of repeating myself for the thousandth time, don't believe everything you read!
