Mr. David Hart of Oxfordshire made an interesting discovery in his garage recently: a 2 1/2-foot-tall jar containing what appears to be a baby dragon preserved in formaldehyde. It was left there decades ago by Hart's father, Frederick, who may or may not have been a porter at London's Museum of Natural History around the turn of the last century. Papers accompanying the jar indicate it was presented to the Museum in the 1890s by a group of German scientists trying to perpetrate a hoax on their British colleagues. The specimen, which has yet to be examined close up by experts, is assumed to be made of wax or rubber. Full story.

Has anyone been aloud to x-ray the jar containing the “dragon”? If it did, in fact, come from the 1800′s, how could they possibly have created the dragon in such detail to include the umbilical cord, loose, flaking skin and the claws and teeth. The wings look so delicate that they might rip apart like wet paper.
If it were rubber or wax I highly doubt that they could have got just the right amount of a detieruating effect, to make it look real. But just the same I dont doubt that it could be a hoax, it does seem pretty modern. all the same though one has to keep their mind and thoughts open, there were a group of scientist just recently that went to the untouched part of new guines and found a handful of species that were labled as extinct for quite some time but were found.
Well, it looks like they are going to just sweep this one under the carpet! Never have heard another things about this fascinating & wonderful baby dragon! What has happened to it since the discovery? Have they x rayed it? We all want to know what is going on with it!!!!!!
dragons come from eggs, this picture of the dragon shows a umbilical cord…this is abviously fake…reptiles come from eggs and eggs only.
Sadly, this is indeed a hoax. The man who made it admitted to it here:

Oh, and James? Things from eggs do have umbilical cords – to attach it to the yolk.
Someone said reptiles come from eggs only? The common garter snake is a live bearer. As well as many more…..check your damn facts before making a fool of yourself.
Lohr, you are an idiot
this is a hoax, it is in the encyclopedia horrifica, its is rubber, madeto promote a science fiction book
I think it’s beautiful and it makes me wish such things as dragons were still in existence. If it is determined to be an actual, real dragon then we, the public, will never hear about it.
It’s real. Don’t bother listening to the discreditors, they’ll do anything to make a buck. Even if it means disowning their own mothers.
Its a real dragon.
how much do u want for it i will buy it
