Mel Gibson: The Man Without a Face

Thursday February 26, 2004
Speaking of Mel Gibson, did you know that when he was a young man the future movie star was brutally beaten and left for dead by a gang of thugs? The attack left his face so disfigured, they say, that the only work he could find for many years was in circus freak show. Despondent and suicidal, Gibson eventually sought solace in the Catholic Church and was taken in by a priest who helped him find the best plastic surgeon money could by. Many years and painful operations later, his face miraculously restored to its former handsome glory, Gibson made a film based upon his own life called "The Man Without a Face."  That's news to you, you say? Don't feel bad. It's news to Mel Gibson, too.
