A Note on Hunter S. Thompson

As a longtime admirer of Hunter Thompson's work, I was saddened by the news of his death by suicide last weekend. I was also reminded of an off-the-cuff remark he made in an interview once, a gut reaction to the quality (or lack thereof) of online information that still strikes me as a perfect motto for this site:

"I don't know the percentage of the Internet that's valid, do you? Jesus, it's scary."

Amen to that ... and R.I.P. Hunter S. Thompson.
