Beware the Blood-Spurting Onion

The Hindustan Times reports that hysteria has broken out in Outer Delhi because of a rumor claiming that witches are responsible for several unexplained deaths in the region. "According to the rumor, a witch goes to houses, pretends to be hungry and asks for an onion from residents," says the Times. "The witch cuts the onion into two halves, 'blood squirts out and the person dies instantly.'" Police deny there have been any "mystery deaths" in the district.  Full story...
