When I was about 10, I was drinking the last can of Coke. I wanted some more, so I took a Pepsi that was in the refrigerator since it's pretty much the same. My dad, not wanting me to drink any more, told me that if I drank Coke and Pepsi together, it would bubble up into my lungs and I'd suffocate and most likely die...

What you have just read is one of hundreds of "ideas that adults thought were true when they were children" submitted by visitors to i used to believe, a Web site whose stated purpose is to "reassure you that all the things you used to believe weren't so strange after all." I don't know how successful it is at the latter, but it is highly entertaining and a veritable treasure trove of urban legends. Don't miss it.
