Hollywood Gossip du Jour: Tom Cruise and Rob Thomas

By , About.com GuideJune 30, 2005

Follow me on:

Though it is utterly demeaning to both parties and defies logic to the Nth degree, the rumor that Tom Cruise and "Batman Begins" actress Katie Holmes have agreed to enter an "arranged marriage" to hide his supposed homosexuality not only continues to circulate, but has taken on a prurient new twist thanks to the Internet grapevine.

According to an email forwarded hither and yon this past week, the arrangement was deemed necessary — nay, urgent — by Cruise's PR folks because the "War of the Worlds" star had been caught in flagrante delicto with Matchbox 20 front man Rob Thomas by the latter's wife, who was threatening to go public.

Needless to say, there's no evidence to support any of these allegations, nor any good reason to grant them credence. "L.A. is full of nothing but filthy, filthy liars who would like nothing better than to destroy the man responsible for 'Push," notes gossip clearinghouse Defamer.com, whose editors concluded the rumor is baseless. "We live there, we should know."

Here’s a story about Tom. He was in Hawaii a while back. Apparently he
“cruised” the male flight attendant (who is the good friend of my good friend and has no history of lying. Needless to say, Tom Cruise is apparently a bottom. This guy has no reason to lie about this.

“the good friend of my good friend and has no history of lying”…this is the definitive phrase in any urban legend!

Rob Thomas is no-where-near gay. If you ever listened to any of his songs, you would know that.
