A new forwarded email touts the merits of labeling next-of-kin entries in one's cell phone contact list with the acronym "ICE" In Case of Emergency to facilitate identification of disaster victims. First suggested by a British ambulance service last year, the proposal became the subject of a national awareness campaign by mobile phone service provider Vodafone UK in April and kicked into high gear after the July 7 terrorist bombings in London.
