Misinformation on Emergency Mobile Phone Use in London Tube

An email rumor currently circulating in the U.K. urges London subway riders to dial 112 on mobile phones during underground emergencies instead of 999 because the former allegedly "diverts to a satellite signal and puts you through to the 999 call center." Transit officials say this is false. While both numbers are valid in general emergencies, neither currently works in the tunnels. Read more...
