This week's contender for "Site Most Likely to Yield a 404 Error" is www.walken2008.com, which announces, in the words of film news site Empire Online, that "the twinkle-toed terror that is Christopher Walken is all set to run for President in the year 2008." It is obviously a hoax. Despite a pop-up "press release" claiming that the actor himself announced his candidacy in a "private conference" held at the Waldorf Astoria on August 9, no mention of the event has turned up in the national press. Web chatter (when has it ever been wrong?) attributes the hoax to members of the aptly named General Mayhem message boards.
