The Deadly Can of Coke, Part XXXVIII

Tuesday March 21, 2006
How can Coke kill you? Let me count the ways... You've heard, I presume, that Coca-Cola is highly corrosive and makes a fine household cleaner when it's not dissolving your teeth and rotting your guts. You may have also heard it contains an ingredient in common with antifreeze that could kill you in less than an hour if you chugged four liters. Did I mention that terrorists have poisoned entire shipments of the stuff? And if you didn't give up your Coke habit after reading about the store clerk in Hawaii who contracted Hantavirus drinking from an unwashed can, surely you will change your mind when you read the email about a woman in north Texas who forgot to clean off the top of her Coke can and died of Leptospirosis. Warn everyone you know!

How do we know for sure? There are always germs on anything that comes from the grocery & warehouses. It’s only wise to wash off anything that we put up to our mouths. There’s an old saying: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” Makes sense to me!
