"A scene you will probably never get to see in person," reads the caption accompanying this emailed image. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a scene you will very definitely never get to see in person — not on planet earth, anyway — because it's physically impossible for the moon to appear so much larger than the sun when they are seen together with the naked eye.  Read more...

There is another explanation that proves the North Pole Anomoly is a fake. The Moon shines from the reflected light of the Sun thus if the Sun and the Moon were in the positions shown in the photo it would be impossible for the side of the Moon facing the Earth to be illuminated.
