A bogus news story attributed to the Associated Press claims that actor Jaleel White, who played nerdy Steve Urkel on the '90s sitcom "Family Matters," died last week by his own hand. U guys stink. Why would he kill himself. It’s probably a cover-up 4 the person that did kill him. I think it’s not true. If it was true than that’s really sad. I mean he was the funniest person on that show that he played in. My older brother and I used 2 watch that show all the time. My mom said that one of her friends sent her a message that got sent 2 that person said that they found his body. It’s probably not true. Paporazzi probably think he’s dead cuz he probably hasn’t been around 4 a while. Just let me know if he isn’t dead and it was just a lie.

That is so funny how quickly it spread. My friend e-mailed me a letter and I was so sad. But, it got to the part where it said he shot himself in the head and on the note it said. “Did I do that?” For a quick moment I just wanted to laugh. Man that was so wrong. ANyway, I recovered and then realized,. “NO WAY, THAT CAN”T BE TRUE” So I looked it up on-line about 1200 in the morning on june 6th 2006 to see if it was. It was confirmed;he was not dead. Well, now I can laugh about that shooting himself in the head and saying “did I do that comment” wiithout my conscience bothering me whether it was the right thing to laugh about. I am going to let it out now …………..lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha
When I got the e-mail stating Jaleel was dead, the 1st thing I did was to verify whether it was true or not by going into the internet and finding out. Some people don’t have anything else to do, but to e-mail B*ll. They like to start mess. Anytime I get an e-mail about something that I feel is bogus, I verify, and I suggest that everyone does that before they sent it on.
This article is not something that people should play with because when someone really dies it is going to be even worst. I have a hard time convincing people that he is NOT dead

WOW! When I received the email that stated that Jaleel was dead, we did a google search to see if it was true. We could not even find a mention of the hoax article that we received. I am glad that Jaleel is alive. I, for one, think that he is incredibly sexy and immensely funny. The person who wrote that article and attached those fake me out “Is he gay?” pictures, ought to be sued. See how they like their life being ruined….This is just one person’s humble opinion…

Jaleel White, who played ‘nerdy ‘ neighbor Steve Urkel on “Family Matters” found dead Monday. He was 29 years old.
White was pronounced dead on arrival after admission to an LA hospital early Monday morning. The death is being investigated as a suicide.
Born Jaleel Ahmad White, he began his career at the age of three acting in television commercials, before landing guest spots on shows such as “The Jeffersons” and “Mr. Belvedere.” It was in 1989 that White landed the role that would make him famous, playing wacky neighbor ‘Steve Urkel’ on the ABC program “Family Matters.”
Following the cancellation of “Family Matters” in 1997, friends claim White became obsessed with the character, and grew despondent, despite further successes as star and producer of the UPN sitcom “Grownups”, and as a writer for NBA.com Neighbor and friend, Bradley Spencer alerted police after hearing what he described as “a loud bang” coming from White’s Los Angeles apartment.
Authorities state that upon entering the home they discovered a young African-American male with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Also found was a note, which read simply “Did I do that?”, a popular catchphrase from the show.
“Jaleel was an uncommonly good man, an exceptional role model and a great comedic actor,” said William Bickley, who created the series, and Thomas L. Miller, one of the executive producers, in a joint statement.
“We feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. He’ll be missed and remembered every day by his many, many friends,” they said.
Actress Kellie Williams — Laura Winslow on the series — described White as a consummate professional actor. “Everyone adored him,” she said.
“We have all lost a dear, dear brother,” said Reginald VelJohnson, who played Carl Winslow. White, an only child, is survived by “cousins, aunts, uncles, and wonderful friends,” Bickley said.
