As everyone knows, the American Civil Liberties Union has long pressed for separation of church and state by, among other things, filing lawsuits to remove religious displays, including Christmas nativity scenes, from government property. Some have interpreted this as an effort to "get rid of Christmas" -- hence the bright idea of punishing the organization by flooding its New York offices with Christmas cards. Any takers? The second most frequently asked question is whether it’s true that part of the ACLU’s mission is to “get rid of Christmas.”
It is not.
The ACLU is determined to get rid of all things Christian not just Christmas.
