Or so the forwarded email claims: "This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft Iowa, yes farm equipment!"If you ask me, something's rotten in the state of Iowa. Wow!! I wish I had one of those. I would watch for hours. This musical/machine is hypnotic. How can I get a DVD I would like to see more.
WOW!!! WOW!!! That is all I can say!!!! I could wach that thing for EVER!!!!
It’s a piece from Animusic’s portfolio, pulled from their first DVD of amazing music set to synchronized computer generated imagery, aptly named Animusic. Either the first or second DVD is mesmerizing and the music is quite good.
But, this is VERY definitely a hoax- they should have come up with their own content to make it a little more believable, but I suspect that they were on a limited budget or skill limited when they started this one.
This is a fake machine, but a cool animation.
Is there a music CD available for sale?
And if so, where would I buy it.
What everyone is looking for is at animusic.com
It is terrible when someone else is getting credit (even as a hoax) for some EXTREMELY HARD work – they had nothing to do with ..
This is Wayne Lytle there, and Animusic .. and has nothing to do with Bancroft or John Deere or anything else.
(and i can’t believe that anyone would in fact buy that all these balls do actually fall on -a- string and then in their cones!!) LOL !!!
- if you like what you saw go to: http://www.animusic.com and buy it ! : ))
AP.
This is an animusic piece from the first dvd and this one here on about.com is called “Pipe Dream”. There are MANY more fascinating animusic clips at http://www.animusic.com. Check it out!
I would like to see more music like this I could not take my eyes off of it.
Music From Tractor Parts-
Summary of the eRumor:
The email comes with a video file attachment. It says that it is a performance of music from a mechanical device that was built by the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa and 97 percent of it is components from farm equipment from John Deere and the Irrigation Equipment company from Bancroft Iowa. It says it took the team a combined 13,029 hours to build, align, calibrate, and tune the instrument. The eRumor also claims that the device is on display at the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University of Iowa.
The Truth:
The eRumor is a hoax.
The music is actually an acclaimed example of what is called “animated music” and is titled Pipe Dream. It is from http://www.animusic.com and is included on a DVD of other animated music productions.
The University of Iowa says there is neither a “Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory” nor a “Sharon Wick School of Engineering” on the campus. Those are fictional institutions.

Thanks, David Emery, for useful truth-telling site. (And yes, the animation remains wunnerful never mind the con).
Yeah, it’s great! And yes, they do have a CD
