Fellow patriots: Like me, you probably received an email saying that hot dog manufacturer Oscar Mayer is so dead-set against the war in Iraq that the company refuses to send hot dogs to U.S. Marines. I took some time to do a little research, though, and guess what. It's a HOAX.

Wayne, honey, even though I think your language needs some cleaning up, I have to agree with your sentiment.
Wayne, Shenenah, sweeties, did either of you bother to *read* the story? Mr. Emory clearly exposes it as a hoax.
Gosh, I see my previous comment was deleted. Good to see that censorship is alive and prospering in the good ol’ US of A!
Jen, girlfriend, I did “read” Mr. Emory’s explanation. I was merely telling the other poster that even though I didn’t really like his language, he did make a point with his sentiments.
SNAP – I is done.

1963-1983, Navy. Oscar Meyer needs to respond to the public by News Release that the comment was a hoax. V/R
ok i dont really care for what you are saying about not supporting Oscar Mayer! they dont believe in killing and just because they think that does not mean that we should just try to cut off their product. anyways the only reason i started to write this is because i am pissed of that the letter says boys fighting. . . dont be sexist and buy girls in there too.
Hey, the freedom of speech that allows you to say that, COMES FROM THAT FIGHTING, JACKASS! You’re free to live your life as you choose, not as you are told, because of those who are willing to fight to keep this country free. Remember that the next time you decide to open your ignorant mouth!
Served proudly and with honor..We can`t fight politics but we can support our men and women…note I said women…in the military
Oscar Mayer is made by Kraft Foods. Here’s a real news story from awhile back to pass around:
Kraft supports Red Cross military aid effort
This week, Kraft responded to a request from the American Red Cross by sending a truckload of snacks and beverages to Camp Attabury in Indiana, the only declared federal mobilization site for U.S. troops deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
By the way, regarding Military donations, the Dept of Defense rejects unsolicited donations. In their words:
“…unsolicited mail, packages and donations from organizations and individuals compete for limited airlift space used to transport supplies, war-fighting material and mail from family and loved ones.”
Shame on your company! Our men and women in Iraq and other areas are there because they believe they are doing the right thing by our country and protection all of us, including your sorry b—! The least you could do is send them something they enjoy eating…I don’t think considering they are putting their lives on the line for you, that a few hotdogs is asking too much, do you!!!!!
Hellooooooooo!! Lynne – did you happen to read the retraction statement? did you read anything or did you just do like my 80 year old aunt did and forward this trash to everyone in you address book without taking the time to check it out? Forwarding e-mails like this without checking them out first is nothing but gossip. Since you have so much time to read and forward e-mails – how about checking out what the Bible says about idle gossip.
I think Oscar Meyer should go public with either an apology or explanation concerning this incident. I volunteered at our local Navy Base several years ago when several of the chicken restuarants were asked what kind of a discount on 150 pieces of chicken could we get for a little “get to-gether” for Squadron members returning from Iraq. We were told that they did not support the war. I, being from a military family, was very insulted. I picked up the phone and called Wal-Mart and ask about the discount….the manager told me to ask for him when we came into the store. When we picked up the chicken, there was 150 pieces with a “No Charge” written on it. I have no use for anyone who reacts negative to our troops….troops who are risking their lives to keep me free where I can write messages like this.
Oscar Mayer did come out with a statement on their website.

Hi (14) Suzie, I grew up in San Diego as an Air Force brat, and am now retired from the Air Force.
Which Naval Base and which chicken restaurant did YOU visit where you experienced such negativity? I want to ensure I don’t visit that chain or spend my money or use its products for anything. If you have first hand knowledge of it, it won’t be libelous because you will be sharing YOUR experience with us.
Thanks!
