"At first, I thought he was being dramatic. I picked him up, put him on the counter top and washed his face with soap and water. He was screaming in pain. I put some lotion on his face - more agony. I had used a Magic Eraser to remove magic marker from my own knuckles a while back and I couldn't understand why he was suddenly in pain. Then, almost immediately, the large, shiny, blistering red marks started to spread across his cheeks and chin."  More...

All parents make mistakes. Stop picking on this mother. If there is 1 parent out there that never made a mistake with there children please comment. If an adult can use an eraser with no problems I wouldn’t think it could hurt a child. This mother knows she made a mistake and she’s just trying to educate other mothers out there. STOP being judgemental.

I totally agree with Ally. This mom is letting other adults know the potential danger, it has on children, maybe even adults with sensitivity to chemicals. Hats off to a mom that can own up to her error and learn from it, and educate others about the seriousness of a product.
Cheers!

A mistake is when you accidently leave something in a child’s reach, think you have closed a door properly, misread an instruction label etc. Not when you give something to a child that states that it should be kept out of the reach of children and pets. It is a fact that a child’s system, skin included, is more sensitive than an adult’s, it is still building its immunities. Anyway, who was suprvising, the child’s face and arms have been rubbed with this product

Ok I just got this e-mail today and it doesn’t say that the mom used this on the child nor anything about the child rubbing this on himself. Here is part of what was in my e-mail The mom in this case let her kids erase their crayon marks off the walls and never even thought the sponges would have this kind of chemical in them that would cause this kind of burn or even hurt them. It doesn’t even say that the mother wasn’t watching her son when he was using the eraser. How many mothers hasn’t made made or let their child clean us a mess that they made or even help clean up thier younger brother or sister’s mess?

Get a clue!
There are no chemicals in this product that can cause a burn like that from simple contact with the skin. I have two young children and I have them use one all the time , supervised to clean up their messes and have never encountered any burns of any kind
This mother obviously tried to scrub marker off of her childs arm using the eraser and it is easier for her to blame the product than herself.
Don’t get me wrong I feel bad for the mom she must feel terrable but she is not owning up to her mistake she is putting it off on someone else. She is obviously leaving out details.

This stuff is made out of extruded melamine. It is a fine grit cleaner and a bit toxic. Don’t use it on your kids.
