Is it a naked woman? A space alien? Some gangly dude smoking a cigar? Or is it nothing more mysterious than the vice-president's arm holding a fishing pole? The photo that's got everyone buzzing, shot by White House photographer David Bohrer, is a close-up of a grinning Dick Cheney on a fly-fishing trip in Idaho. Some folks insist the blurry, flesh-colored shape reflected in Cheney's sunglasses is either the tanned body of a naked woman or something not of this earth.
Cheney's spokesperson Meagan Mitchell says it's a hand casting a fishing rod. Diabolical!

It is clear to see that he is holding a fishing pole in his right hand. Your mind is going to perceive it being a naked person but it’s only his right hand and a fishing reel.

I find it hard to believe that 32% of responders actually think that’s a naked woman in Cheney’s shades. Would the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, especially one as secretive as Cheney, allow that pic to be published? Come on. It’s just a fishing pole. And in light of past events and Thomas’ comment, I’m surprised he even gets to use THOSE anymore.

Are people so ready to create a scandal that someone says “Goodness, it’s a naked woman!” and people just eat it up and blow it WAY out of proportion. First of all, it does not look like a naked woman, even without enhancing the photo. If people would get their heads out of their “you-know-whats”, it would have been obvious that it is what it is.
Besides, why would Vice President Cheney have a naked woman on the boat if there was a cameraperson close by ready to snap a shot or two? And why would they have released this photo to the public if the reflection truly was a woman?
God, people are so screwed up in the head sometimes… Think with your upstairs brain, America!!! Our president and vice president are NOT perverts… and they’re NOT idiots, like some people in this country.
The fact that anyone THINKS they see a naked woman or anything other than what it is (an arm-hand-fishing pole) is proof that society has hit a new moral low. The image is clear, minimally distorted and obvious!!
this is much ado about nothing.it is a sad commentary about us and the media, where we take little things out of proportion and make a big news deal out of it with out checking the facts. its is also sad for the media to report it without finding out the truth and just letting it grow, i think they should investigate and correct false pretense.

I have studied alien life phenomena for over 18 years and am convinced this is the same alien that met with Dick Chenny at the end of the Desert Storm invasion while he was Sec. of State for Bush Sr. An associate of mine who was a resident Whitehouse photographer captured a shot of an angry Chenny meeting with this same alien as a decision was made to pull out of Iraq. This photo and negative roll was taken by the Secret Service. We believe that its now payback time and Chenny has come to terms with the aliens to supply them with oil. Ask yourself, where did all that Iraq oil go that was supposed to fund their economy? The tax payers are funding a war while Chenny sales oil to the aliens!

If you look at the high resolution close up, there is no doubt at all that he’s holding a fishing pole. Oh my goodness! You all who chose “naked woman” on the survey should be ashamed of yourselves. This is how rumors start.
It’s so obviously an arm holding a fishing rod that it’s hard to believe anyone could mistake it for anything else. Take a look at the high-res enlargement. The thumb side of the hand is towards you; the thumbnail is at left. An arm in a white sleeve is at right. The fishing rod looks curved due to the curve of the sunglass lenses. See it now?
