'Worst Ever Virus' Warning Is a Hoax
Thursday May 15, 2008
And it's a hoax that keeps on giving. Spouting panic-inducing nonsense borrowed from other false virus alerts dating back eight years, the "Postcard" warning has been in circulation since February, bolstered by the erroneous claim that Snopes.com has verified it as true.

Snopes DOES show this as real
Glenn,
Read the Snopes page more carefully.

The worst virus I ever had was a flu that lasted four months. Snopes never said whether it was real or not. I much prefer your site, David.
Also make sure your Firewall is properly configured to thwart attacks.
Anything you can do to avoid these nasties is worth the lil effort to remain safe online.
Glenn, babe-
You can’t trust snopes for lent… They have a long established reputation for being politically slanted liars who do sloppy, cut-rate work on myths and hoaxes they didn’t begin themselves and spam-mail out.
This article is no different- the author obviously has no clue what they’re talking about, but they’re gonna play it out and refuse to make any retractions if someone tries to tell them that their article is crap.
Forget the anti virus go round. Install linux and a firewall then relax.
