Via Weird News: TMZ.com is reporting that transgender male Thomas Beatie, who made headlines a few months back as the "world's first pregnant man," gave birth to a baby girl on Monday after checking into a Bend, Oregon maternity ward under an assumed name.

This Woman that just lives her life as a man had a baby…women have been doing that for a while now. Just because she had her breasts removed doesn’t mean she is a man. Boys can’t have babies, silly goose!

I’ve live in a nearby central oregon town. This woman is NOT a man. Humans playing around with God given creation does not change His original intent. This society may have some pretty wild, kinky, worldly promiscous idea’s, but a dog is still a dog, cat a cat, human a human.
If you look at the whole picture you will have seen that a man did not give birth to a baby. The trans gender male was actually a woman originally and became a man later on in years.
So when they say that a man had a baby it really was a woman who became a man that had the baby.
When I heard about this story I wondered if he/she had done it as a publicity gimick. The news says that his/her wife can’t have children and so he/she decided to have one for them instead. What I find a leetle bit weird is that when she had the gender reorientation into a he, the vagina was left in place so she/he has just given birth ‘naturally’ … you have to admit that’s a bit odd if she really felt she should be a man – why keep some of the female sex organs?
Sounds like a lot of media hype to me. “Woman, who underwent cosmetic surgeries, had hormone injections and assumed a male name to appear male – gave birth” would have been a more correct and less misleading title but no one would have really cared.
Meerkat, you’re wrong about that. She did not leave her vagina intact, which is why she had a C-Section. She did not deliver naturally. This whole thing is absurd and I feel so sorry for the child born into this drama.
The thing about some of the comments that bothers me here is that so many people hate this person in the name of God. You’re tarnishing your religion and hurting others in the process. Shame on you. Compassion for all beings – that’s what I learned from my religion.
In this case, the media is clearly hyping up a story. Maybe it’s a slow summer. Maybe they know people are sick of hearing about the Iraq war, the starving children in Africa, and the flailing economy.
Wake up, people.
This whole hype sucks and is demeaning! What an embarrassment to the human race! Please leave God’s creation alone (if you believe in God).
The politicians are happy – that you have diverted your thoughts from the ever rising oil prices, and the other problems & the plain cost of being ALIVE!
Elsewhere where tyrants rule with an iron fist is also happy – saying the Americans are the devil’s of the planet – by proving that only this happens in USA! (pity their understanding though)

Jimmy, I’m not sure I’m hearing as much hate for the person in question here as much as annoyance and disapproval of the media coverage. I have no hate for anyone (believe me or not) but I think the hype and media take on this is very sad. If you get right down to it, the “man” is still a woman. That is a fact, not a “hate statement”. It’s not a PC statement, either, but still a fact, nonetheless.
I feel sorry for the child. What a miserable beginning.
I just think this whole thing does the transgenedered community a disservice: How are they supposed to be taken seriously if someone intentionally in the public eye is saying “I want to live as a man, I don’t feel right in this body as a woman, but, uh… I still want the ‘perks’ that come with *being* a woman” ?
So how did he/she get pregnant in the first place?Artificial insemination?And how exzactly does that work in her/his situation?
Anyone wonder why the Muslim Jihadists hate us? We have postmodernist transgendered arguments that continue to want birth certificates degendered. And, a complete disregard for the birds and the bees. But, it’s all the same thing it has been fo 4.5 million years of human existence. Making a baby is an act of heterosexism in the human species. Even if BIG SCIENCE is used, with artificial insemination or test tube/petri dish in vitro fertilization.
All that is happening is the pipette or needle is being used to replace the penis in delivering the sperm into the egg. It is still an act of heterosexism. Even IF the egg is from a lesbian and the sperm is from a gay man. It is STILL an act of heterosexism!
Homosexism does NOT lead to babies. Any more than a woman who wants to live as a man but still has a fully functioning female reproductive system below the breasts. If she has ovaries, fallopian tubes, a uterus, cervix and vagina and ovulates and impregnates, no matter how the sperm is delivered, the SHE is a SHE, no matter how she wants to lead her confused life.
I think this woman is a flat out liar. IF she wanted to be a man, she could not get pregnant and would not have done so. This was no mistake. She is, in fact, a lesbian living with her lesbian lover. First, last and always. No more postmodernist sexual identity confusion.
The vast majority of the rest of us know how we were born and live our gendered lives that way. We are either male or female. Nothing more, nothing less. And, certainly nothing different.
There is no such thing as a pregnant man. He is a she and she is a liar. She’s lying to herself and to us through a media that can’t get enough of this kind of exploitation.
If this person actually got pregnant at home by artificial insemination, their vagina had to be intact. Otherwise, how else could they get pregnant?
But as someone else stated in their comment, if you make claims that you are a man, take hormones and have surgical intervention such as mastectomies so you can look like a man, why do you want to be pregnant like a woman?
This person took full advantage of the media so he/she could get publicity. They got their 15 minutes of fame. I wonder if the child will appreciate how she was used by her parents.

No matter how you look at it, a child was born into this world by choice from 2 parents who will love and care for it. Transgendered, lesbians, gays, whatever…they are still human beings who have a right to bring a child into this world just as you and I do. Instead of downing them for something thqt you may not believe in, be happy for them.

Also, He Did have a natural birth acording to abc news which is how God & nature intended it so if you want to be mad at some one it should be all the doctor that give c-sections just because it is more convenient.
I think that it is pathetic that you have to keep bringing “God” into the picture. If “God” had intended that he live his life as a woman, then he would have never given us choices. Okay, I have alot to say. First off, God definantly needs to be brought into this! This woman did notihing wrong because she is a woman and she was intended to give birth to a child from the day she was born. In my opinion, what she did wrong was claim to be a MAn giving birth to a child, because that is like laughing in Gods face, mocking his will. And yes, God gives us choices. But he hopes you will make the right one. Was it right when Charles Manson went on a serial killing rampage and brutally murdered young homosexual african american men? No. He made that choice, and God can’t change your mind only you can. God would NEVER something like that to happen. I believe there is no such thing as destiny. You have a million pathes laid before you and down each path is a million more turns, detours, and changes of direction. Nothing is set in stone. You live your life by your choices and God won’t judge you until you stand before him on Judgement Day and he picks your place for the rest of eternity.

I understand the arguments made on behalf of people who don’t think that their insides quite match their outsides. I see people grappling with this issue in a variety of ways – whether it’s the ageing body not adequately reflecting the inner self, or a change of hair colour, or a name change. Transient internet identities also offer people an alternate ‘technology of the self’ where they wrestle with the belief they have a disparity between ‘self’ and ‘image’. I can see how similar arguments can be claimed in the name of the transgendered.
All the same, I recall that during the ‘Cold War’, East Germany tried to secure an advantage in international sports by ‘transgendering’ a number of male athletes in order to enter them into womens’ competitions. It’s interesting to note that in THIS environment, arguments of ‘the self’ were invalid: They performed DNA testing to ascertain whether the atheletes were GENETICALLY male or female.
If this childbirth were an athletic event (which childbirth isn’t?), the contestant would be disqualified…
