Well… I don’t really have a firm position on this. I personally don’t think that any of this crap is true, but i was just with a bunch of my friends who happen to be girls and you know the old saying, “prepare for the worst, hope for the best.” so i was a little on edge, but nothing happened. Even when i walked through the park, i didn’t see anything too abnormal, but there were a few more “shady guys” then i would have liked.

I do care. but i am only a law student but i was taught to only listen to facts. as there are no factual information to support your claims or any other claims of gang related incidents any logical person would clearly see this as a hoax. Wasn’t one of the major reasons we stayed out of the holocaust was due to the great depression. If I remember correctly it happened in 1920s and Hitler’s reign started around early 1930s? Financially speaking the U.S. did not have the money to support a war.

if a man came up to me and said he didn’t kill his wife and asked me to represent him I would ask him to wait. A good lawyer has to look at the facts of the case and then believe what is the best thing to do. if the facts points towards innocence then i would work hard to prove it. if the facts leans towards guilty i would have to decline because i can not morally defend someone who i believe is guilty. i do not care about a big fat paycheck and my career goal is to work in the district attorney’s office which is usually a lower paying job compared to to the state’s average for lawyers who have private practices.

The daily news has an article taking about the major attacks that happened yesterday. Not one involved a woman. Idk if any of this is true but either way, better safe than sorry. If this had absolutely no basis why would everyone be talking about it? There has to be some truth in the situation. If there was none then the rumor would have never gotten so widespread. My friend goes to Nightingale (private school in nyc) and the staff at the school made a point of telling everyone about Blood activity in nyc on halloween. The same girl lives on 128th street. She stayed at a friends house on halloween night because a woman was slashed on 125th, three blocks from her apartment. Part of why this isn’t on the news is because the attacks were slashings, not necessarily resulting in death. That means that a bunch of people could have been injured badly but did not actually die. Like I said, I don’t know if this is true but you shouldn’t dismiss it entirely…take precautions, even tonight, since many people are saying its supposed to continue over the weekend. My cousin’s friend had to go to the hospital because she got sliced, and my BEST FRIEND’S bus broke down (Bx12) in Fordham and according to her, BLOOD was in Fordham. When i got Fordham school on Friday everyone was running around scared to death, and around Roosevelt High School which is on, there was a lotta BLOOD on the corner, and i saw them with m outta y two eyes. SORRY, but in my eyes that doesn’t happen everyday… P.S. it was on NEWS 12 THE BRONX when i got home, and to be precise, the headline was “GANG THREAT”

Listen up. Folks claiming the media is covering this up, and get your heads out of your ass. I write for a major newspaper in New York, where we make our living reporting crime, blood, and guts. If there was ANY truth to this, we would have been all over it.
All you liars who are saying something happened to your friend, or your cousin, did you report it to the police? No, because we see police reports every day.
The news doesn’t report everything that occurs. I think there won’t be any reports that cover the blood initiation. The ideaology that the if the news doesn’t cover it, then it isn’t so is ignorant. There is plenty of things that are not featured and there are plenty of fabrications as well.
While at Union Square I saw at least six ambulences, inside one of them some one was bleeding profusely. I saw a countless amount of police officers. I asked one that was hanging out of the door of a police truck as if he were a garbage man if any of the trains were safe and he shook his haid, “no”. I saw a guy snatch a purse. The woman’s friends chased after the guy, and in response, his crew followed, many sporting red bandanas in their back pocket.
Word of mouth might seem like a game of telephone with a lack of credibility, and usually it is, but in this situation, it is not. Just because someone labeled as “head” claimed that all were rumors doesn’t mean it isn’t true. There are some things that circulate amongs people and not the media that ARE true.
Some of you can say it’s true, if you want, but I don’t believe it is. People are saying 2,000 different things. Gangs cause harm and hurt people EVERY DAY. It’s not just Halloween. You always have to be careful and use common sense. But all this? If they wanted to cause a scare, they did. I think this is a very successful method because they just caused widespread panic and caused people to be in their houses for no reason. Everyone says they know someone who knew someone who got killed or slashed. People said don’t go to the parade. Well I went, with friends…nothing happened. People were alone on the train, nothing happened. People are shot or stabbed everyday, so until you can say that 30 people truly did get harmed, it isn’t true. Hospitals are ALWAYS packed with people who are hurt. Dangerous neighborhoods are ALWAYS dangerous. I was in Brooklyn, on Flatbush where people were said to be attacked…I saw NOTHING. There was nothing different from any other day. Plus, who are the people who got attacked? In broad daylight, or in well lit areas, tell me who got attacked. Whenever I hear about an attack it happens at 3 or 4 in the morning in an empty street…why go walking that late anyway? That is asking for attack. But this is just ridiculous..and for all you who said it’s not in the news, it was in the paper today and it was said that any attacks were not gang related sooo..And anyway, it’s after halloween and I still heard nothing from anyone reliable.

I know it to be true in NY, on Friday before I left my job a girl was stabbed 3 blocks from my job near norman thomas high school 33st & Park ave and she died the next day and my brother’s god daughter classmate was sliced thursday in the face and needed to surgeries just getting something out of her father car and I have heard of a few others that I do not know the people but people I know knew them have told me about near them. So just because it is not in the news and they not want people to panic or just don’t since they were targeting Latinos and African Americans only. Some people need to get out of their bubbled world.
Allen i agree with u………..this whole thing may be a hoax…….First of all this was not even a blood initiation…..bloods were suppose to pop off on women because of a personal reason which i will not state……but nothin has happen and the reason i feel it was a hoax because any of the victims family members would have reported these incidents and it would have been on the news trust me.

I havent read every single comment on here. I agree with some of yall that said it should have been on the news, etc. Way back when they would have it on the news, i remember there was a time when everyday you would hear of the bloods slicing somebody on the train or elsewhere. These rumors go around every halloween, but just this year it really took off. I dont believe the rumors to be true, because first off each female that wanted to join has to get 31 girls, come on that is crazy. I know the bloods are crazy in in themselves but this rumor was bigger then nyc so I doudt the bloods would want to do something on such a large scale especially given their history, you know like its too predictable.
All day on halloween and even still today I’ve been hearing stories, but for those ppl that have played telephone you see how things can get turned around. So i’ve been looking for somebody that actually saw a blood slice a girl or something because everybody is like my friend told me, or i heard from my co-worker. I do believe that it would have been on the news, cuz if its suppose be 31 each person then one of those ppl would have made a big deal out of it.
I wont say that I didnt spend halloween looking over my shoulder, i did but I hate the fact that all of these are rumors and that they just get bigger and bigger. I believe the blood initiation IS real but thats just my opinion.
I think, the reason its not reported, is because there isn’t enough evidence to tie all the slashing and deaths together as a part of the “blood initiation”. Yes, there were deaths and slashings but there are deaths daily. And because the slashings and deaths occurred in different areas, with uncaught suspects, there is not enough evidence to link all these incidents as part of the blood initiation. I do, however, believe that the blood gang does exist and that if not all, some of the cases are linked to the blood gang.
The “blood initiation” was to slice 31 girls total not kill 31 girls each. And look there’s another rumor that tomarrow their gonna rape a number of girls in each borough. I’m sure there was a “blood initiation” but not on a scale that the rumors were on.
This is actually true. In my school, a bunch of bloods surrounded my school waiting for us to come out but the cops came, and theyre doing it again 2morrow .
I tried to read all the comments, but I don’t have that much time to waste. First of all everyone should believe in gang violence, especially on Halloween. Stabbing, drive-by shooting, and rape happen all year long. I researched the net and found that there was no stories of girls being slashed or raped. If you have real proof, as Allen was saying, then post it. As for these text messages I find that they are coming from the same kind of people. I asked people I know received the text message who they got it from. Guess what? These people are low and trashy and hang out with the wrong people. If the message was sent by a family member ask who they got it from, until you hit this kind of person. My mother received it from a woman I know is considered “trailer park trash.” All I can say is to take precautions but I think most of this is rumored bullshit.

For any other people with stories like: I knew this girl who was in the city and she was slashed in the face/raped/killed, where did you get this info?
We live in the U.S.A and if you haven’t noticed by now the media craves stories like these. Plus, today you can find anything on the internet, but there’s nothing except blog posts and comments from random people about this.
This is really a horrible rumor, if it definitely is one. The world is bad enough. I would really love to know where the texts originated from.
And one last thing, I don’t think these gangs are stupid and would let plans like these get around through texts.
I’ve been reading Allen’s Comments and I do believe he is Correct on what he is saying, IF ANY of this were true, you would IN FACT see it on the news, I’ve been searching on yahoo and google about 31 women and have found NOT A DAMN thing except for you all bitching and claiming this story is true.. You all think that just because ONE lousy freakin’ girl was reported to being RAPED that it was by the Bloods! WRONG-O!
When they say GANG RAPE, they mean More then one male was involved in the rape, NOT meaning that a woman or girl was raped by a gang, and most certainly NOT by the bloods. Gangs like the Bloods do NOT RAPE. Isn’t ANYONE educated in this country Anymore?!
I have a friend in North Carolina, claiming that someone shouted out about shooting 31 women for irrigation…but I wonder if it wasn’t just the cops shouting out about it or something..Because there are CLEARLY NO REPORTS about it.

These things make the rounds every year about this time…4 years ago, there were rumors of a “Bloods initiation weekend” in Oct, during which prospective members were said to be intentionally driving w/their lights off, then attempting to kill anyone who gave them a “courtesy flash”…as expected, the entire weekend came and went w/o a single incident.
Oh, and Max’s claim that TV stations don’t run news stories about gang violence b/c it “just hypes gang members up” is laughable…I work in New Rochelle, and News 12 Westchester gave plenty of airtime to reports on gang activity @ the New Roc City entertainment complex 2 1/2 years ago.
Folks, this ranks right up there w/those old rumors about children being abducted and sacrificed in Satanic rituals on Halloween night…not a shred of evidence to back it up, and if there was any truth, you can bet the news media would be all over it. Face it, if your primary source is an e-mail/TM/online bulletin that ends “this iz tru, plz pass it on2 evry1 u no”, that should tell you how much credibility these rumors deserve.
And lastly, don’t these alleged planned attacks strike you as out of character for gang members? The whole gang lifestyle is all about acting on impulses…I seriously doubt they’re sitting around drawing up plans for an attack on such and such a date, and if these incidents really happened, why can’t people provide such basic details as the victims’ names?

Well, I live in San Diego. There are approximately 426,000 females in this town and last year at Halloween every single on of them was slashed. It’s a fact because you read it here and didn’t see it on the news.
Being a resident of the Bronx I can say that these accusations are real. Friend have reported woman in the Bronx and Harlem area getting stabbed up. They are targeting females and this is before the Halloween Gang Initiations. I read a post saying that it would be all over the news if this is true, but the news does not report half of the incidents that happen around us.
I really don’t know what to believe. I hear it’s just myth (and I want so badly to convince myself that it is), but then I hear from people I know that they know so and so who got slashed, and then tell me there are pictures. I’m not one to doubt my friends and family, so they influence my worrying a LOT.
Knowing there are no reported stories makes me feel a bit better, but who would know really if it’s a gang related incident?
I’m just gonna try and get by tomorrow just like I get by everyday. I live in the Bronx, and I’ve been out at all sorts of hours, and nothing has ever happened to me. I know that gives me no reason to be less careful but hey, what are ya gonna do?
Laura, sometimes it’s possible for well-meaning fam/friends to get false info…if it was “initiation weekend” (n/m this same stupid rumor goes around every year at this time, yet Halloween always passes w/o a single gang-related incident), why wouldn’t the police be setting up patrols in gang-heavy neighborhoods and issuing official statements urging citizens to proceed w/caution?
And youssra, you need to relax and think about this…if your only sources for this “information” are a buncha TMs, doesn’t that tell you something right there? Why haven’t the names of these 7 girls made the news?
Also, doesn’t it strike you as odd that not one single person who claims it’s real provides any kind of link to a news story, names the victims, etc? This is basic stuff!
Finally, as I mentioned in an earlier message, do you really think gang members are sitting around in their clubhouse, drawing out plans for elaborate initiation killings? The whole lifestyle is all about acting on impulses, not taking time to carefully plan things out…and why wouldn’t the police warn residents of the neighborhoods they patrol? That’s their job!
