Via BoingBoing: It's the stuff of urban legends, to be sure -- man opens bag of freshly-bought hot dog buns and finds what looks to be a full-grown mouse, complete with tail, baked right in. Ew!
"That’s our little friend right there and that clearly is a mouse,” said Charlotte, NC resident Bruce Van Dyne as he displayed the contents of the bag for WCNC-TV News (view video). “Other consumers should be concerned. How did it get there? Are there other ones?”
According to a follow-up report, representatives from Arnold Bakers, the Florida company that manufactured the buns, inspected the product and determined that Van Dyne's "mouse" was nothing but "hardened dough, also called 'pan accumulation.'" Results of independent lab tests are due next week.
Meanwhile, Van Dyne openly scoffs at the bakery's assertion, calling it "incredible." The director of North Carolina's consumer food and drug protection agency, Joe Reardon, said the state will conduct its own investigation.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Whenever something big like this is found it is almost always a hoax.

Sure looked like a rodent baked into the bread to me.
ITS NOT A MOUSE
It looked like a “cartoon” mouse baked into the bun maybe. Seriously who would look at that and honestly think it was a one-time living creature with bones and organs baked into a hotdog bun. In the cut section it obviously was homogeneous in texture and looked like the rest of the bread other than it was a darker color. That would be like ordering a “bear claw” at the bakery and getting confused that it really was the foot off a grizzly.
that piece of dough looks like a mouse.
