Not inclined generally to jump into this subject, I like to comment that I have wondered about the anti-birthers, those that would accept, incomplete documentation while assembling legals teams for months if not a year already fighting all the battles across the country. The question is not whether he is a US citizen, the question is whether he represented that he was not. Why else would he not produce everything of relevance to the issue? Sure, he wants to proclaim his US citizenship now, but how about 40 years ago? 30 years ago? The more damaging issue is likely to be that he lied about NOT being a US citizen, either to get into a school, to make Ayers happy, or who else knows why. Of course, if he said he was not a US citizen, that would also play right into the hands of the people who are trying to establish that he is not (and who knows, maybe it would be evidence that he rnounced his citizenship). The birth “certificate” does not end the debate, the truth will out, and the longer the liberals go on supporting Obama and avoiding this issue, the harder they will fall when the legitimacy of every bill that Obama signed into law is questioned and challenged.

He is not a dual citizen, he is a dual national — like every single Jewish person in the US — all of whom are edible for Israeli citizenship just for asking.
What you are claiming is that Joe Liberman could not become US president because he is considered by a foreign state to be a dual national.
Actually, Obama is not a dual national. Any claim he had to British nationality through his father was removed by the 1981 British Nationality Act (along with millions of other citizens for former British Colonies).

Here’s a question I’ve never seen answered (or raised) about the birthers’ conjecture: Why would those parents have bothered to travel to Kenya in the first place to have their baby?
Here we have two college students living in the brand new state of Hawaii. One is an American teenager from a family of modest means. The other is a poor (by Western standards) Kenyan on a student visa who could only afford his tuition at the University of Hawaii through a full scholarship. They start a relationship, she becomes pregnant, and the two have to marry in haste with only six months before the child is born. I ask you, what godly reason would that couple have to drop everything and make the grueling trip from the middle of nowhere (Hawaii) to the middle of nowhere on the opposite side of the planet (Kenya), at what must be ruinous expense to this young family, especially at the rates of airfare in the early 1960’s? Why would they leave behind the safe, modern health care they would receive in an American hospital in exchange for the much dodgier standard of care to be found in colonial Africa? What incentive would they have to place their finances, the health of the mother and her baby and, least of all, that child’s United States citizenship in jeopardy so that he could be born in Mombasa, or wherever?
And before anyone answers “So they could be close to the Obama family”, let me regale you with this bit of sordid family drama. Barack Obama, Sr. WAS ALREADY MARRIED when he met Ann Dunham. He abandoned his first wife, who had already borne him one son, while she was pregnant with their second child. What’s more, he concealed all of this from his American wife until well after they had married. Hardly the actions of a stand-up gentleman, and certainly incentive for him to want to keep his new wife as far away from his first family as humanly possible. Conveniently, Honolulu fits the bill.

I’ve seen this stuff go round and round with people on both sides simply regurgitating the same conspiracy-theory, sensationalist crap over and over. But there ARE some troubling things associated with Mr. Obama’s claims. I am from Missouri and that state also now issues a Certificate of Live Birth, just like Hawaii. However, for an additional fee, I can obtain a copy of my actual birth record and I am quite confident that Hawaii also retains the originals on micro-filch, but NO ONE has offered to show such a record and Mr. Obama has issued an executive order “sealing” his records – that IS disturbing. Also, the guy who first showed Obama’s Certificate of Live Birth, showed one without a raised seal and the nay sayers jumped on that to show it wasn’t authentic, so Hawaii produced one WITH a raised seal, which ONLY proves that Hawaii HAS an embossed state seal. But it is VERY INTERESTING to note that NO state, including Hawaii, emboss their Certificates of Live Birth, because the proof is embedded in the paper with various means to foil counterfieting. So, I have to ask, “Why go out of your way to emboss something that is NEVER embossed?” Now I agree that the “dual-citizenship” thing is ridiculous. While the U.S. DOES NOT accept dual citizenship, they have no control over what other countries recognize and that IS NOT even mentioned in the U.S. Constitution, so it is meaningless. But there is another interesting fact that gets over-looked totally, and maybe it is immaterial because the U.S. Constitution does not seem to require a person to currently be a U.S. citizen, but ONLY to have been born here. However, regardless of where Mr. Obama was born, he IS NOT now a U.S. citizen. When he was adopted, in Indonesia, by his stepfather, HE CEASED TO BE AN U.S. CITIZEN. The act of being ADOPTED renounced his U.S. citizenship! He has NEVER reapplied for citizenship and so IS AN ILLEGAL ALIEN!!! So, I don’t KNOW whether he was born here or not, but it is ABSOLUTELY CLEAR that he is NOT at this time a “legal” citizen, and NOTHING he has done since becoming President shows him to be interested in ANYTHING except destroying this country’s reputation and economy. He has lied about just about EVERYTHING else in campaigning, about his religion, about his politics and about his current citizenship, so why is it so UNIMAGINABLE that he would lie about where he was born. But what’s REALLY scary is that someone so completely un-American could even be OFFERED as a presidential candidate, let alone get elected. So, ask yourself, “Who’s REALLY running this country anyway?”

His mother was barley 18 when he was born. The law says she has to be in the U.S five years after her 16th birthday. Sixteen plus five equals 21. So that leaves him out on his mothers side also.
