Yet another generic celebrity death hoax, spreading this morning via Twitter:
Emma Watson Involved in Fatal Car Accident

Los Angeles, CA - Millions are in shock after Emma Watson died overnight in a car crash. The 19 year-old actress, most famous for her roles in the Harry Potter films, was killed while being driven back to hotel after a screening of her latest movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, when a car collided with her vehicle. Watson is reported to have died at the scene. Her relatives have so far refused to comment, only quoting that they are 'too distraught' to speak with the media.

Police are questioning witnesses about two men who reportedly fled the scene following the crash. The two men are said to be in their early twenties, one caucasian and the other hispanic. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities immediately.
The website on which this originated is not a legitimate news site and may, in fact, be spreading malicious software.

Please don't pass it on.

You don’t know how much I hate bloggers who make things up and just hope they get it right.

The rumour never originated on a false news site, it was posted there but it didn’t originate there, the rabbit hole goes deeper.

The worst thing is some people actually believe what the read in blogs.

I agree with Nashy on this one too. I also hate bloggers too especially having someone preteding to be fake celebrity on MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. Some will say if they do have one or not.

This news is going out of my mind like crazy. If this was true, I don’t plan to go out with my friends just be in my bedroom looking at my autograph picture of the girl of my dreams. I had a dream of Emma that she was gone forever and it tore me apart until I woke up… I was emotional until later on it wasn’t true.

If some bloggers are making this up, in my words will be a lot of swear words and also to any bloggers “you are just making up these stories so you can get the money. It’s all about the money? Right?” Those are my words if I was face-to-face with a blogger.

these folks at 4chan should get a life. I can’t believe a website even contacted her publicist about this, I bet the woman has better things to do than debunking death rumors coming from internet forums and twitter.
