They're promulgating the statement, which was made during a March 25, 2010 debate on the Parliament floor and quoted in what appears to be an official transcript of the proceedings, as evidence that Obama was born outside the United States.
Yes, according to the transcript James Orengo did say this:
"If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multiparty state or nation, how could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become president of America?"
Birther-friendly websites such as WorldNetDaily.com observe that the remark was neither challenged nor corrected as the debate wore on, inferring that everyone present agreed with it.
What those websites don't point out is that no one bothered to correct assistant minister Peter Kenneth when he said the U.S. has 51 states, either (see transcript, page 68). Or assistant minister Aden Duale, when he attributed the words of Eleanor Roosevelt ("No one can make you feel inferior except with your own consent") to her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt (see transcript, page 39).
Remember the time presidential candidate Barack Obama told reporters, "I've now been in 57 states"? Or the time vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin called Afghanistan "our neighboring country"? Or the time President George W. Bush said, "We found the weapons of mass destruction"?
Politicians aren't always wrong, but as a general rule it's folly to mine the day-to-day utterances of elected officials for reliable facts.
If the transcript is valid and accurate (which it seems to be), James Orengo did, in fact, imply that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. I'll wager he actually believes it.
The question is, given the preponderance of evidence, what does that more likely prove — that the President of the United States was indeed born in an African country, or that politicians don't always know what they're talking about?

Just show us some real proof to shut us up. Is that so hard to do. It must be since he hasn’t shown any so far.
I am not a birther (I personally think it is irrelevant at this point even if it were true) but these comments don’t address the truth of that statement. The article focuses on the fact that politicians make stupid statements – not whether the statement is true or not. Yeah, well, we know politicians don’t just mispeak, they are often at times, quite stupid and ignorant.
The article, to me, is evasive and projects some fear. I thought this site was to clear up facts? – Not provide political cover. Spoken like a poliitican would speak……
I read through the entire 69 pages looking for that particular statement and didn’t find it. I did note the errors concerning Mrs. Roosevelt’s statement and the number of states. I then went back through and read it again to make sure I hadn’t missed it and still did not locate this statement from anyone in this document. There is a thing known as Journalistic Integrity, so I believe the reporter should be called out for his reporting skills. However, I am still of the mind that I’d like the birth certificate issue to be resolved. If this man who calls himself our president has some integrity himself he would have done so by now and resolved the issue post haste!
Halfway down page 31 it’s clearly printed in the Kenyan Parliament record.

Assumption, Presumption and Conclusion prove nothing other than an assumption, presumption or conclusion have been drawn. Evidence proves things.
Make two columns, one with evidence that Obama was born in Kenya, one with evidence he was born in Hawaii.
In the evidence column for Kenya birth, put statements from Michelle Obama and James Orengo that he was born in Kenya.
In the evidence column for Hawaii birth, put Dave Emery’s assumption, presumption and conclusion for Hawaii birth.
Then decide.
It is absurd to equate the detailed statement that asserts Obama was born in Kenya with a simple statement that the officials there might not be familiar with (50 versus 51 states or who said what in a quotation). Whether the statement made was correct or incorrect, it is silly to undermine it by saying no one challenged these other statements.
See pages 29-31 of the minutes. Plain as the nose on your face.
Just read it. Page 31, first indented paragraph states:

To those claiming: just show us proof! He has. A scanned copy of his birth certificate is available on the white house website. He doesn’t have a “native Hawaiian” birth certificate because those are only granted to Hawaiians whose bloodlines can be traced to the original Hawaiian islanders for usage in determining certain property rights.
Regardless of that, a newspaper article from Hawaii reports on his birth.
If David Emery is interested in finding out the truth about Mr. Orengo’s statement, why does he not make any effort to contact him and ask him personally why he made the statement rather than give ridiculous excuses (51 states, Obama’s 57 states, etc., examples) for why Mr. Orengo’s statement could be false.

Whether the man was born in Kenya or not isn’t really the point but official statements of a major government such as Kenya merely underscore the fact that valid information about the man is missing from the US public record. You also seem unaware that the Kenya National Assembly has made other such official statements indicating his likely boirth there – but never mind!
The US Constitution places certain requirements on a person wishing to be President and NO ONE has ever shown the man to be legally eligible to hold the office he now occupies … and certainly you’ve not done so.

The real argument is: IS MR. SOETORO (aka Barack Obama) A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN? If so, Mr. Soetoro needs to PROVE that both of his parents are US Citizens. If not he is just a NATIVE citizen at most and NOT a natural born.

I think I would go with the determination of the US House of Representatives over a statement buried in a speech by a Kenyan politician: On July 27, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 593, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood, including the text, “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.” The vote passed 378-0.
So far every Court in which a suit was filed or heard, They have ruled that an Official of the State Of Hawaii has seen the COLB and have said it is a REAL COLB, thus the courts have ruled he is a American. Now for those who keep saying BOTH Parents must be born in America in order for a person to be considered also to be 100% American, BS. #1. Courts have not ruled that Hawaii saw the COLB and said it is real. Hawaii won’t comment on the COLB since the serial number doesn’t match those that were issued about the same time. Courts have not ruled he’s an American — only that people do not have standing to bring the charge.
#2. Both parents do need to be US Citizens to have a Natural Born Citizen. Illegals have US Citizens, but they are not Natural Born, they are naturalized (or native born).
#3. Baby Barrack (former spelling) returned to Hawaii quickly after his birth, so people could pose for pics with the future president. Newspapers picked up the birth announcement from the vital records department which probably received a notification of home birth from grandma.

Seems to me that the same people yelping about how “both parents have to be citizens!!” are the same ones who, on a different day with something else on their minds, are going to be yelping about their tax dollars paying citizens’ benefits for “anchor babies” (the children of illegal aliens) – i.e., public education, health care, social services, etc.

The reason that link only addresses children born overseas is because a brief review of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution tells us that: “Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
To take out the stuff that might distract you, it says: “All persons born … in the United States … are citizens of the United States.”

It is possible to be a citizen of the U.S. (anchor babies, etc.) and not a NATURAL-BORN citizen of the U.S. A natural-born citizen was born here, and has 2 parents who were born here. You might also look into the assertion that President Obama attended college here on a foreign student visa, using his adopted name of Barry Soetoro. Is this why all his college records are hidden from public view? I don’t think it’s crazy to ask questions about this.
The same halfwit types who crow that a statement by a Kenyan MP is proof that Obama wasn’t born in the US would not be dissuaded at all if that same MP had instead said that Obama wasn’t born in Kenya. If the MP withdrew his statement, or better yet, if he said he’d issued it only to prove that birthers are a bunch of gullible saps, the feverish birthers wouldn’t miss a beat.

My grandmother was from Slovakia, my great grandmother was a naturalized united states citizen after she came here from Slovakia. However I do not say my home country is Slovakia. My friends soon to be ex wife is from Kenya she got her green card when she married my friend, she says that although we in America like to believe Obama was born here, he is not and that he was born in Kenya a fact she says she is very proud up and a fact all her family and friends can be proud of as well.
