How would this be different from the entire rest of recorded history? Have we never had earthquakes before? Have they only ever happened in one place, and are now starting to happen in different places?

Since I was a kid, I have been able to predict earthquakes. I get ringing in my ears, either the left or right, depending on what side of the earth it will occur.
What I am hearing are the “plates” in the earth sliding against each other. Depending on the intensity the quake will be determines how loud and how long the ringing in either of my ears lasts. And no, it is not tinnitus.
The recent 5.9 quake that California on Wednesday 07/07/2010 happened almost 48 hours after my right ear rang at approximately 4:24 pm on Monday 07/05/2010.
Back in the early 1980s while living in Houston Texas, there was a massive and devastating earthquake in Mexico. BOTH ears slammed shut and rang all day.
From what I understand, I am not the only person in the world with this gift. There are others like me.
Now, anytime an earthquake is going to happen either my left or right ear will ring. I need to start keeping a journal. Maybe I will bookmark this site to document when this happens. Who knows, it may help someone somewhere.

OMG, i have the same thing, but when i tell people they say they laugh and say they dont hear anything. i cant predict anything in advance but from few minutes before i start hearing the noise.

Barb – I hate to burst your non Tinnitus bubble but from what you explain this is actually the result of inner ear effects of tinnitus and not ‘plates’ moving beneath the earth.
I too hear quakes with my ears BEFORE they happen. I get pressure pops and gong like tones. For those of you who hear qauakes, Google these two words “earthquake” and “ear” and you will come up with a web site with drawings and photos that explains the SCIENCE as to why we hear what we hear. 3% of population hears it! The nerve in the ear is stimulated deep inside by the signals given off by the fault/plates that are active. Don’t let anyone tell you quakes cannot be predicted or that you have ear problems I predict them but won’t give out my site here for obvious reasons. Bob

While it is true that earthquakes cannot be predicted, it is important to always be ready for one, especially if you are in an area prone to earthquakes.

@Teressa: Mathew 24.. Earthquakes might be a “normal thing” but when you have earthquakes, rumors of war, everyone turning against Israel” Gods Country” that means something more then just being “normal”.. this is just my opinion and what i’ve read in the Bible

to Barb , I get it too, well not JUSt ringing in my ears, but my eyes twitch, spasm out of nowhere, and the ringing is almost as if pressure is being built up. Oh and another thing, my son has severe Autism, well he used to, he has come leaps and bounds now, anyway my point is he gets wild during shifts, like weather … dramatic temp changes and and storms rolling in. I don’t know what if any of this means something, but I can tell you that we have large brains, and most of us don’t use all of them, but what about others that are forced to use other arts to try to communicate, like children with learning disabilities….I too think I have switched on parts of my brain and senses that most have not. By the way, I have another abilty, but I dare not say this on here…..

99% of the people that claim to predict earthquakes had better think twice.
Wow is good to know that it’s false. I’m 23 years of age and about to be a dad of my first baby we are just waiting for any minute now for my baby to be born. I just don’t find it cool for people to play with stuff like that to get attention from the media or scare people that really care about their life and others. But see in one the texes that are being send i read it say “pray” Im catholic and strongly believe in Jesus my point is that many of us believe in him don’t matter what religion but we believe. Yes we need to pray but not only when something bad is going to happen or when we need it the most. I my self don’t go to church and it’s wrong because i should maybe we believe and just forgoten to be greatfull for all that he has givin us. I don’t know but i think these are signs not for the end of the world but for us to know that hes here with us and we need to get close to him again like the begining of years. It don’t matter the religion beacause of the end of the days is the same god we all pray for, love and believe in. Let’s change and help others change. Though I am from the land of mystics and godmen India, I would not call myself a mystic but I do assume I have some powers of foreseeing impending disasters.
Exactly a week before the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan, at 4 AM in the morning, the usual hours of my meditative contemplation, I had a vision. During that vision, I could see a Tsunami mow down scores of people, boats and cars floating and houses being ripped apart by huge waves of water. I was also a witness to the tsunami and was trying to escape with scores of people. The vision showed that it was happening in Mumbai, India but when I saw the cars and buildings and boats, it did look a foreign country and not India.
Once the vision cleared off, I woke up from my bed and became restless. I spoke to my father and wife about the impending disaster that unfolded in front of my inner vision. They never dismiss my words as a hallucination as they know for sure that I speak out only when I am sure. We waited with bated breath and then it happened…in Japan. The scenes unfolded exactly the same way I saw in my vision.
Now, just three days back, I had another vision that provoked me to write this article. I want the world to know what I saw and it might help people from saving themselves from a major disaster. Here is how the vision unfolded.
