A story that originated as a joke on the satirical website The Daily Squib has evidently convinced not a few Internet users that glam diva Lady Gaga underwent surgery to amputate one of her legs "for fashion purposes."
"Next month after I recover from the surgery I hope to have the other leg amputated, or maybe my arm," Gaga supposedly told reporters.
Too preposterous to be believed, you say? A sampling of this morning's Google results suggests otherwise:

This is not funny for those who have no choice and have an amputated leg. I understand the humor but it hurts a lot of people that don’t have the choice to be as stupid.

I believe one of the phrases in the article was “supposedly told reporters”. Get alife, learn to read, and yes there are sick jokes out there. Thats why humour is in the eye of the beholder and very individual.

More proof that she’s the new Marilyn Manson; for over a decade rumors have circulated that Manson has a glass eye, and that he’s removed several of his own ribs for various anatomically unlikely reasons. Now it’s moved on to her.
It would actually be good to see more disabled people in the music business. But Ga Ga should not and never will make herself disabled to further her career, Why would she need to all she has to do is get her agents to spread more rumours. She is like a virus that there is no cure for, but will eventually fade away.
I think Lady Gaga would do about anything to get more press to follow her.
