How can anybody wnt to keep thisw guy around for our President. It seems like he is doing everything he can to undermine the American way of life that Americans have fought and died for to give us our freedom and comfortable way of life. He needs to be impeached along with the rest of his czars. Send him the Muslims back where they came from. To a foreign observer (I’m Canadian), this issue is obviously ridiculous and trumped-up. Is flag worship some kind of religion in the US? Does not having a huge flag in the background make Obama an unbeliever? I would be interested in knowing more about this new faith.

No Flags, yes some one goofed. But it was not the President because there are people in the White House who are responsible for setting up these things. They make sure all the stuff is in place so when he walk out there it is ready. What needs to happen is someone working at the Whitehouse, not his staff, but a worker needs a check off list when he set up these things.
Of course it would have been nice if when he came out he would have noticed that there was no flag and asked for one to be brough out. But that is not the way he works too bad.

I am sick and tired of all the nitpicking on this President. Okay no flags, someone obviously overlooked something important, but not earth shattering. If you complainers would get off your duffs and start working together for the good of the country, the US would be in much better shape. But all we hear from Congress on down is the constant complaining and nitpicking. There are very important issues at stake here with the gulf oil spill. Let’s focus on that and not whether there were any flags present. For one thing I didn’t even notice. I was more interested in what he had to say, not how he or the stage looked. There are many people hurting from this oil spill lets focus on them. I am a proud American and was not offended when my attention was called to the fact there were no flags present. I just figured someone goofed. The words and actions on the subject at hand are the most important.
Hey, I didn’t vote for him, and I’m not a Democrat, and I don’t much like his policies or leadership. But I don’t worship the American flag, either. Frankly, I think it is very cheap patriotism to drape yourself in flags and make a big deal over flags. It’s what we DO for our country and our fellow citizens that matters. Hey, Ohiovoter, my husband was ALSO born in Hawaii before it became a state. His parents spent all of WWII there from before Pearl Harbor till the end of the war, supporting the war effort. That doesn’t make him any less of an American citizen than Obama. Nor does it make other military dependents born overseas any less American citizens. And my husband is the flag-flyer of the family. Me, I’m a libertarian who is afraid of big government. Seeing a lot of flags flying makes me worry about more government control, more taxes, more (dare I say it) socialism. Wouldn’t those of us who fear socialism like to see fewer government stamps on everything?

In this tech savvy world that we live in, we as citizens of this country need to stop being led with our eyes and really listen to what is being said. It is much easier to photo shop a pic, label it something and send it into cyberspace, than it is to instead, educate ourselves and become more aware of what is really going on. Don’t take the easy road, instead do something worthwhile to become informed. Over 50% of the population votes because they feel it is their duty and only a handful of the remaining 50% makes it their obligation to become thoroughly informed, that is the group we should ALL be in. If you are not sure of who you want to run this country then do eveyone a favor and save your vote. Don’t waste it on a “Better than nothing” candidate. We don’t need that kind of help.This country deserves better.
