Are poinsettia plants poisonous? Not very, says the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. Despite its fatal reputation, the humble Christmas poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) is only mildly toxic when ingested, potentially causing irritation of the mouth and stomach, and/or, worst-case scenario, vomiting.
