I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution. Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal?

There are so many things wrong with Mr. Gholson piece I hardly know where to begin.
I don’t know if they say prayers before sporting events in Israel or Iraq and even if they do it doesn’t matter. Israel is a Jewish state, and Iraq is a Muslim state . America however is NOT a Christian state, America is a secular state… the Constitution is very clear on this matter.
No one is suggesting that Christians can’t say grace or pray whenever they like. The issue has and always will be state sponsored prayer. If the prayer is before a game of the NY Jets, then no one cares… if the prayer is part of the opening of a game at Podunk High Schools, that is what riles atheists.
The Bible also says that when you pray, you should pray in the closet, because it is the hypocrites that make a show of their prayers. It amazes me that Christians miss this particular verse all the time
