A viral image still raising hackles though it's over two years old shows a sign on the front door of a Houston perfume shop said to be "run by Muslims."
The sign reads: "We will be closed on Friday, September 11, 2009 to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali (A.S.)."
According to the attached email, this same Imam Ali "flew one of the planes into the Twin Towers" a truly amazing feat for a man who died 1,350 years ago.

The subject line speaks volumes about the email senders’ belief in our constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Yes, it means we all have a right to writing and speech that may be disturbing to others, and to venerate somebody who is a “saint” in a different religion.
Second, what sort of person goes into a mall to buy crystals, as the purported friend in Houston was supposedly doing? What kind of crystals? Magic healing crystals? Sparkly bedazzler crystals to emblazon the flag on the back pocket of their acid-washed jeans? Crystal Drano to clear out the clogs? Enquiring minds want to know.
The email writer gets lots of exercise in leaping to conclusions.
Unfortunately, stupid is contagious.
