It's Deja Vu All Over Again, Again

Forgive me if you were already cognizant of this amazing "fact" about October:

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! ~~ This year October has 5 Mondays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This Happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So copy this to your status and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not copy, will be without money. Copy within 11 mins of reading. Can't hurt so I did it :)

Forgive me also for pointing out, yet again, that it's total B.S.

This year October does, in fact, have 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, and 5 Mondays, but, as I've explained umpteen times before, this is neither a mysterious nor a rare phenomenon.

Any 31-day month that begins on a Saturday will have 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, and 5 Mondays, and it happens way more often than once every 823 years.

Previously:
5 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays in July 2011
5 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays in Oct. 2010
5 Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays in Aug. 2010

It’s not hard to imagine why people manufacture political yarns to support their prejudices, and it’s no harder to understand why ignorant, wishful people latch onto them. But the reason someone would start something like this is a bit harder to imagine. I’m assuming, of course, the originator is intelligent enough to realize just how ridiculous it is.

My only thought as to a purpose is that these sillinesses are begun just to see whether they’ll be mindlessly forwarded until the perpetrator finds it in his or her own inbox. Does anyone have another idea?

So, does this mean I don’t get my money for forwarding this on?
(Relax, I am joking)

Checks in the mail Bill. In order to process your chain letter reward, we need to verify some information…..

I understand what you have written but the last time for October (2010) had 5 Fri, Sat and Sundays not 5 Sat, Sun and Mondays… But in all reality, if you were not bothered by it you would post this about it!!! Either way you have been sucked into the mindless drool that is social spam!!!

In order to have every variation of the year, you need 14 calendars. 14: one for every ‘normal’ year, one for every leap year.

For example, for 2011 I am used a 2005 calendar because I enjoyed the images from it. For 2012, a leap year, I will need a 1984 calendar. For 2013, a ‘normal’ year, I could use a calendar from 1985, 1991, or 2002. (Search for ‘Perpetual Calendar’ to find other options)

Certainly, 823 years between calendars is, as David Emery notes, total B.S. I guess it’s an internet thing.
