I've received umpteen copies of a viral email whose author is "incensed" by what he claims are changes in standard U.S. military funeral protocol instituted by President Obama.
Henceforth when the folded flag is presented to the next-of-kin, the email states, instead of saying, "On behalf of the President of the United States and a grateful nation I wish to present you with this flag," the presenter must now say, "On behalf of the Secretary of Defense and a grateful nation," etc.
Because of this alleged action of Obama's and the "endless cesspool of anti-American rhetoric dripping from his mouth," the email's author says, "for the first time in my adult life I was ASHAMED of my country."
The awkward truth is, no such order was given. Military funeral protocol hasn't changed.

This email is not true. I just went over 21 years in the Navy and verified this from the Department of Defense website used for military funeral protocols.

Thanks for posting this story. I heard this just today (I have not received the email and if my friends know what is good for them they won’t send it to me) and that is what caused me to go on a fact finding mission. I am not an Obama fan but I don’t like for gossip and rumors that aren’t true to spread about anyone — especially the guy who is running our country right now. If there was ever time we needed honesty from him and about him, it is right now. Thanks for helping in this matter.
