Martha Raye, Combat Nurse?

According to a story circulating hither and yon for the past few years (most recently on Facebook), beloved singer/actress Martha Raye served her country during the Vietnam War not only as an entertainer in the USO, but as an Army Reserve combat nurse with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Supposedly she was laid to rest in Fort Bragg cemetery with military honors. True?
