How NOT to Remove a Tick

Today's viral medical advice is attributed to a "school nurse," who allegedly recommends:

Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick With the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away."

The CDC, Mayo Clinic, and other reputable medical sources say otherwise.

This works. No idea why anyone would dispute it without trying not first. I live in tick country and have used the trick several times.

Try it. If it doesn’t work, use a 357 magnum.
