Manufacturing Consensus: McDonald's and KFC Supporting Chick-Fil-A on Gay Marriage?

By July 30, 2012

Follow me on:

McDonald's Chick-fil-A Hoax

There's a viral image making the rounds purporting to show a McDonald's sign that says, "We Support Chick-fil-A, Now Try to Boycott Us."

Perhaps you've seen it.

You may have also seen the image below — shared by conservative pundit Mike Huckabee, among other Facebook users — purporting to show a KFC reader board stating, "We Support Chick-fil-A and Their Christian Beliefs."

KFC Chick-Fail-A Hoax

In case you're not familiar with the underlying issue, Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy recently made a controversial public statement affirming the company's support for "the biblical definition of the family unit," which has elicited praise from conservative Christian groups and boycott threats from gay marriage supporters.

The message conveyed by these viral images is that Chick-fil-A has the open support of fellow fast food giants McDonald's and KFC. But here's the thing: the images aren't real.

They were created using a website called the Fast Food Sign Generator, which enables users to insert the text of their choice into pre-existing images of company reader boards. Like so:

How to make your own sign board hoax

(3) Josh says:

shavie, uh, you are able to get Starbucks, you go in and give them your order and give them money in exchange for goods. Maybe stop with the theatrics, Christians come across as stupid with this. Disney, Microsoft, facebook, Target, General Mills, amazon, Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Red Lobster, State Farm, Walgreens, UPS, and yes, even McDonald’s are among many others who support equal rights for all.

So either accept this or don’t bring your brats outside the house again.

Always seeing fake photos of Obama. If they are posted on fb why not McDonalds and KFC photos. Freedom of Speech, isn’t that an amendment to our Constitution.

Chic fil A never discriminated against gays, Christians love everyone, just against the act! They only stated they are for 1man 1 women unity. This is how God intended it to be.

(6) Red says:

I think McDonalds and KFC should support them. What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. Gay marriage is wrong. No wonder our country is in the shape it is. We are defying God. And when you defy God there are consequences.

I believe everyone has the right to voice their opinion even if they are the owners of a big company or a celeb.. I may not agree with them but that has nothing to do with whether I like the product’ movies or music.. I think Tom cruise is a nut and a bit of a fanatic but hes a hell of an actor so I continue to watch his movies… Just voicing my opinion

(8) Chris says:

Sad, their fake, but if you would put it to a vote, it would be overwhelming that most people feel this way already, but are silent about it. Judgement is coming, and it is not by me!

(9) Scott says:

Re: Michelle

Christians just do not condone the immoral act that is homosexuality and simply wish to preserve the sanctity of marriage as it was originally intended by God…who I might add is the one that created the institution of marriage to begin with. God created man, and then created woman to be the mate of man. Its the natural order of things and has been since the beginning. Christians do not dispute the right of any person to be gay if they choose the lifestyle. Liberals tend to attribute that to our motives by themselves.

(10) Ann says:

Freedom of speech is a right of Americans , it doesn’t mean they will be treated differently at any of the food places, if they eat there or work there .
Josh you said “Christians come across as stupid with this” , that’s not right
to blanket criticize a billion people , that’s pretty foolish . If we are forced to have to let the KKK speak their terrible hatred , and the wicked Westboro people say God hates soldiers at soldiers funerals , because of free speech , then we can certainly allow a man to say what he feels about this issue . Free speech .

(11) Lola says:

The sanctity of marriage? You have read up on the divorce rates haven’t you? It’s so disappointing that marrying someone you love is more frowned upon than a drunken Vegas wedding or publicized 72 day marriage between heterosexuals. And I do wish that if Christians are going to use the Bible to limit the rights of others, that they would follow every last bit of it.

July 30, 2012 at 3:43 pm
(12) BB says:

Red, I agree with you, but your argument only works for us Christians. To get people to agree with us, we first have to share the faith with them. If you try your statement to athiests and agnostics, it won’t work.

(14) Caroline says:

We let non-christians marry, so why not let homosexuals marry? It is no longer only a Christian practice. Many heterosexuals abuse and defile the sanctity of marriage, so why is it that two monogamous homosexuals cannot marry? God spoke about homosexuality in Leviticus, against promiscuity for health reasons. Why should we prohibit two committed adults in a monogamous relationship from marrying when perhaps God hasn’t intended every couple to reproduce?

July 30, 2012 at 3:57 pm
(15) CalvinT says:

Sorrt Juliano, but you are wrong, well partly wrong. Yes God does love all those you listed and even more. However all are NOT His children. The Bible is very clear about this. Remember Jesus said in John 8:44, You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
To become a child of God you must accept His way and His way alone- which is faith and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord.

July 30, 2012 at 4:08 pm
(16) Christian says:

Well Juliano that sounds great for a cartoon but this is real life. And the reality is these are not all under the same category.

People are born white, black, spanish, and asian yes. But people do make a choice whether they are going to be straight, gay, bi or whatever. Lets call a spade a spade.

Also you cannot choose if you will end up tall or short. Some things are just the way they are because God made them that way, others people choose.

Being rich or poor you can even make a choice cause even if you are born poor you can work really hard and with the right breaks you can become rich.

And lastly God does love everyone! But only “as many as are led by the Spirit of God these are sons of God.” Even though He loves you that doesn’t mean you are going to heaven or that He is okay with you living the way you are! The only way to go to heaven is to give your entire life (every decision, every word, every thought) to His Lordship in your life.

The good news is that Jesus took already took your penalty on the cross so that you wouldn’t have to! “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead you will be saved!”

I’m sure even the President would have something to say about that! Or let them say they believe there should be slavery again! Would you still look at it as freedom of speech!!! Stop judging people for being happy! Pathetic

Everyone is free to, or not to, boycott this establishment. I haven’t eaten there, so I can’t say anything, pro or con, about Chick-fil-A.
I do believe that Mr. Cathy has every right to say what he says. He is not calling for violence against gays, nor asking his employees to treat them any differently than any other customer. He is evidently devout – so much so that it’s Company policy to close on Sundays. So he’s making a personal statement, and savvy enough to know that he may lose some business over this flap. And flap it is – he is treading on no-one’s rights and I believe the pro-gay-marriage activists, who saw this as an opening (to what, I have no idea), have really picked the wrong battle. Clearly, the 1st Amendment allows precisely this type of speech.

(21) Christian says:

Caroline,

Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life. Therefore is He says something its because it is truth. He cannot lie because God is not a man that He should lie. Truth never changes and neither does God’s opinion on things. He says what He says because those things come into alignment with His very nature. He knows all and knows best for everyone.

It’s not about letting one or not another. God made people a certain way. And we continue to take it and twist it and make our own opinions about how things should be. This is idolatry and telling God that He is wrong.

We are not prohibiting two people from making the decision to be in a relationship together if they so choose. That is once again their choice. What we are saying is that this is not honoring to God and should not be considered marriage because marriage is ordained by God and no man has the right to change that!

Finally as far as God’s intent read Genesis 1:27-31. 27 says he created the two to be together male and female. 28 says the purpose for them was to be fruitful and multiply. It finishes by stating God saw all that He has made and it was very good. So my question is if God saw that it was very good why would He ever want to change it? God isn’t like a person who is always indecisive but when He says something like that it is for a reason. Because it is true.

The issue with CFA is not the expression of the personal religious beliefs of its COO. The issue is that the company has provided financial support to hate groups, specifically the Family Research Council and the American Family Association. The Southern Poverty Law Center designated these as hate groups because these organizations conduct campaigns based on misinformation, spin, slander, and outright lies to malign, persecute, and oppress LGBT people. I guess the admonition against bearing false witness only applies when it’s convenient. The Pharisees are alive and well.

Here is some information on these groups.

I trust that this will help with understanding why the LGBT community is so outraged. Imagine if a company said that they don’t discriminate against anyone, yet they contributed millions of dollars to the KKK. You get the picture.

Of course, it’s a much better strategy to spin this story so it’s about how anti-God and intolerant all those homosexuals and liberals are. Fanning the flames to protect the family against those awful perverts worked great to increase voter turnout in 2004, when many states added referenda to their ballots to define marriage as one man and one woman. I’m sure that the timing of this news so close to the presidential election is pure coincidence.

Feeling that Christian love.

July 30, 2012 at 4:28 pm
(25) CommonSense says:

the bible says that God said that it’s 1 male 1 female in the Christian faith. there just so happen to be LOTS of different religions in the U.S……..so why the heck would we make laws which only coincide with Christian beliefs? …do whatever you want in the church, but in the real world which changes every day, we should be making decisions which reflect free country that allows people to decide who they want to marry. You can have a Christian marriage in the church without it having to be recognized by the government, so why not have a marriage license which may not be recognized by the church? (separation of church and state!!!!!!!!!!!)

And if you’re afraid that your marriage will mean less because gay people can get married the same way you did, then you probably have some thinking to do about the true meaning of your marriage and why you are actually married, if it hurts you so much to see someone else in love.

and besides, the #1 thing that would save the economy: gay wedding registries. and, gay couples on record as two single people living in the same household would be paying more taxes if they were considered married.

@ (3)Josh, kudos. I agree with you 100% and wish there was a “like” button on your comment. My thoughts exactly – especially the last part. Parents who want to teach their kids tolerance by boycotting entire huge restaurants based on the personal beliefs of the owner are actually teaching them the opposite. But hey, that is liberal logic. Just like banning all guns will solve gun crimes because criminals will surely obey new liberal anti-gun laws like they always have in the past. Lol.

totally different… interracial marriages are between a MAN and a WOMAN, that’s the issue. The CEO of CFA is allowed his opinion, whether you agree with it or not. what if all the people who believe in traditional marriages boycott JC Penney because Ellen DeGeneres is the spokesperson? or we dont buy Ben & Jerry Ice cream because they support gay rights? THIS IS ALL WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, why does the gay community think it is ok for them to defame and slam CFA, but they would throw a fit if traditionalists picketed JC Penney. Marriage between a man and a woman is nature’s way. forget the bible.

No Juliano… it makes you not a Christian. Being a christian is about following a regimen of beliefs. The fact is that the word “Marriage” is a Christian sentiment and is the basis of what’s being argued. I don’t see why someone who is gay would want to associate themselves with a religion that oppresses them in this way anyhow. Just be happy to call it civil union and leave the religion part out of it.

July 30, 2012 at 4:50 pm
(32) texas9 says:

Actually, the great majority (not all) of homosexuals are sexual deviants and engage in very lascivious lifestyles. They are not monogamous, and the majority of the few that are monogamous still go in and out of “monogamous” relationships faster than most of us change our underwear. The lifestyle itself is entrenched in pornography. if you know anything about pornography you understand it’s one of the greatest evils of our day and one that does the most damage around the world in so many ways. That is one of the two most important reasons why it’s not ok to “approve” of the homosexual agenda (and it is an ‘agenda’) and same-sex marriage. The other most important reason is that they are seeking to completely destroy the core definition of “family and marriage” – which is the core unit of society. If that ever happens, you can kiss this world goodbye.

What CalvinT says is not correct. None of us have to “qualify” to be God’s Child. We are his children regardless of what we do, and we have His eternal love regardless of what we do. The mistake comes when people equate “He loves us” with “He accepts us into His Kingdom with all our faults.” He does not accept us into His Kingdom wih all our faults. We must repent of our faults and we must follow Him (obey Him) if we want that. John 8:44 is pointing this out by Jesus saying if you follow the world, and do what the world does, then you are following the devil. If you want to follow me you will not do what the world does, but you will do what I did, what i taught you to do. That is how we can tell if we are His disciples. Faith must be accompanied by works. Works must be accompanied by faith. You cannot have one and not the other, otherwise you don’t qualify. The Bible is full of this message.

(33) Kevin says:

I’m a Christian and one who wholly believes in the Bible and it’s teachings. I completely support homosexuals having the right to marry just the same as heterosexuals. Here’s the definition of marriage:
“the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law”

So homosexuals are not denied the right to marry, but they are denied a right that everyone else is as well, the re-defining of marriage.

July 30, 2012 at 5:08 pm
(38) texas9 says:

I’d like to clarify something for Lola: Being a Christian, disciple of Christ, does not mean you do every single things the scriptures tell us to do in a perfect manner. That is not possible for anyone to do. It does mean, though, that you are trying to do it. Each and every day you get up and you do your very best and try to obey Him. And when we run in to the faults of others, we are to “judge in righteousness” if need be (ie: we wouldn’t allow a rapist to babysit our child, etc.) and be forgiving (aka: leave the judge-n-jury part to the Lord, not us). So you see, Christians do not to be perfect, nor does anyone else. But we do need to be actively trying to be better each day. So long as we are doing that, our efforts are accepted of God and followed by blessings.

The Bible does not limit the rights of anyone. It FREES them. It’s akin to a map. When you follow it, you easily and freely get to where ever you want to get to. If you don’t, you end up going in circles and crashing into everything.

And the fact that there is so much divorce is a perfect example of that. The divorce rates didn’t spike until the Bible and God began being taking out of schools, then family life. The less Bible, the more immorality and the less integrity in society. The more Bible we have, the more morality and integrity we had as a society. Except in cases of violence, divorce always happens as a result of pride and selfishness. If the people went into marriage with God and without a “Plan B”, then Plan A would work and there’d be no divorce. If people knew how to forgive, which is now becoming an extinct ability), and if people kept the commandments, and if people read and followed the Bible, there would be practically zero divorce. So we can’t use that as a reason for why to NOT follow God. It’s actually the opposite. All the immorality, lack of integrity, and “bad” things that happen all around us, are directly tied to the lack of Bible and religion in our lives.

July 30, 2012 at 5:10 pm
(39) Christian says:

Commonsense,

apparently you don’t know much about the founding of this country, the reasons for our freedom of religion and separation of church and state!

I won’t spend much time on this just want to say that the reason people came to America from Europe many years ago was to have freedom to worship the God of the Bible, Jesus. And the separation was not meant for the church to stay out of the state’s business but the other way around. It was because the state was too involved in the church they brought up the separation of the state from the church!

Every person who signed our official documents such as Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Articles of Confederation were All believers in Jesus!

Here’s the thing- You choose to live the way you want to but eventually you will end up empty inside! There’s only one way we are supposed to live and only One God, One Great King who fulfills people’s hearts..this One’s name is Jesus! If you are afraid to try knowing Him I can understand..the truth is a hard pill to swallow sometimes but He is going to continue to love you and be here for you even if you don’t choose Him. If you have the gumption to try it you will not be disappointed!

It’s very comical reading the defense of bigotry by people claiming to be Christian.

They always want to appear as the victim.. “oh, don’t blame us we’re just following the bible and doing what God say’s” or “it’s God’s law” or how about “this is the way God intended marriage to be and has been since the beginning” All, Lies!

First of all, no where in the bible does it tell you to go on a religious campaign and force everyone to live under your beliefs. I think Christ was clear on giving very opposite instructions on that!

If God wanted to eliminate the right of human beings to choose whether or not to live by the bible, he is perfectly capable of doing so without the help of his fan club. He did after all, create the entire world and everything on it out of nothing but his words.. yet, you believe him to be powerless to enforce his on laws??? LOL that’s just silly..

..and to you all who say that God designed marriage to be between one man and one woman… you should really learn to READ! From the beginning (Scott) it was one Man and as many wives as he wanted to own! In fact, there is no where in the bible where it says that it shouldn’t still be that way! and yes, wives are property in the Bible!

oh.. and to all your Christian women who want to defend bigotry.. you might want to learn to READ too… you are supposed to keep your mouths shut! According to the scriptures, you are not permitted to speak on God’s laws nor have any authority over a Man…. Period!

Even out of Christian the more homosexuals that their are the less the human population becomes. It’s just a natural order for a man and a woman to be together.

ROMANS 1: 18-32
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

(64) Les says:

The founding fathers were not all Christians. The constitution was written in the Age of Enlightenment, where many valued reason and science over faith. Jefferson, Aadams, Paine and Franklin were all Deists, which is not a Christian faith. You can read about this on a history website run by Colonial Williamsburg: http://www.history.org/foundation/journal/spring09/deism.cfm

The idea of a gay identity is only about 100 years old, however. There have always been people who were attracted to their same sex, but before that it was an action, not an identity and thus the ‘hate the sin’ line was at least a logical construct. It’s very obvious now, though, that people derive identity from their sexual orientation, including straight people. If you ‘hate the sin,’ you hate the identity of the person doing it, and you cannot reasonably claim to ‘love’ someone while hating a core part of their identity. Hating the ‘sin’ is hating the person.

Asking what the Founding Father would have thought about this is like asking what web browser they would prefer. The ideas in the conversation we’re having now had not been invented yet. But you cannot assume you know their minds based on a false presumption of universal Christianity.

Or how about He who is without sin cast the first stone.

(78) MW says:

Let’s forget all the talk about the Bible for a minute shall we?

Let’s look at our bodies and how they’re naturally wired. What is the purpose of a penis and what is the purpose of a vagina? A man gets aroused in order for the penis to become erect so it can enter into something. The vagina, as a woman becomes aroused gets lubricated in order to receive something into it. As the penis enters it’s space and becomes more and more aroused, it ejaculates sperm. As the woman becomes more aroused, the vagina does things that help move the sperm up the vagina and into the uterus where (hopefully) an egg is waiting for it. When the sperm and egg meet, only one sperm can penetrate the egg. When the egg is penetrated, a baby (don’t get me started on abortion) starts being formed and the rest of the sperm that didn’t make it end up dying off.

The sperm cannot do anything inside an anus except maybe transmit disease or cause infection or maybe it does nothing. The anus is meant to rid the body of waste only. Just because the penis fits in the anus doesn’t mean it belongs there. Just because a woman can arouse a woman doesn’t mean it’s natural. Just because a man can arouse a man doesn’t mean it’s natural.

The natural order of things (in humans) is to reproduce. A man and a man cannot naturally reproduce. A woman and a woman cannot naturally reproduce. These acts are unnatural based on science.

(79) Phil says:

In response to a comment made by somebody way above…about being gay actually being a choice…let me ask you a question. Do you HONESTLY think that I woke up one morning and decided that I want to live a life full of hatred, and torment, simply because I could? I have dealt with being told how I am a sinner my whole life from people who feel the need to follow the word of a book written, in essence, by a man no different than any other. Sorry for ya man, but being gay is no more a choice than being tall, short, black, white or asian. While the actual act of gay sex could technically be defined as a choice, would you so quickly be ok with knowing that a person is unhappy simply because they didn’t want to ma e a “choice” that would upset you?

And really guys? So Chick-Fil-A doesn’t support gay marriage. So what? They still serve one of the best chicken sandwiches out there. AND….it has NEVER been a secret that they were owned and operated under strict christian values. I don’t know why everyone is surprised this is the stance they are taking. How many gay men and women have mothers that love and support them, but may not agree with the gay marriage views of their children? Would you stop talking to your parents for that? I say live and let live. Christians, athiests, homos…we are all here together for a LONG time. Might as well make the best of it. No need to support my lifestyle, and we don’t have to believe in the same thing, but we can at least respect each other, and aagree to disagree, and leave it at that. So lets eat a damn delicious Chick-fil-a sandwich, drink some lemonade, and enjoy the world around us for everything it has to offer.

You would be sent to hell 1000 times over because you break God’s laws in many ways that your ignorant selves cannot even acknowledge. But it’s easy to close your eyes and pray the sin away, isn’t it. You believe in such a higher power but don’t realize that it would know what’s in your heart and brain? I read through the comments until about twenty five, than I gave up on any of it being positive towards the LGBT community.
There was a comment that said you choose to be gay or bi, no you do not. It truly is something that you are born with. Who would choose to be persecuted and ridiculed DAILY just because you’re different? I know I wouldn’t.
Yes, I am a proud bi-sexual, I do not throw it in anyone’s face and to be honest, not many know, for the exact reason of all the hate that is received from the Christian community.
My mother is a baptist, she actually tried to tell me that gay is taught, if so, explain a few of my lesbian and gay friends who grew up in strong Christian households where gay was judged and ridiculed? Take into account of of said lesbians had a pastor for a father. The only thing that is taught is hate and forced beliefs.

Also, if you’re going to try to sound smart in your hate filled comments, at least learn proper grammar.
Their = possession.
They’re = They are.
There = place, such as ‘over there’.
Your = possession.
You’re = You are.

You should all be ashamed, judging people just by being who they were born to be. The one people who the LGBT may speak poorly about are those who are clearly ignorant and try to force their beliefs down everyone’s throat.

I can’t believe what I’m reading here. All this guff about following the Bible (an ancient book written by men thousands of years ago!). Why are you so selective about which bits of the Bible you insist we must follow? I don’t hear many Christians condemning “round haircuts” – Leviticus 19:27 reads “You shall not round off the side-growth of your heads nor harm the edges of your beard.” How about eating pigs? Leviticus 11:8, which is discussing pigs, reads “You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.”. Or pulling out and wasting sperm during sex!!! Genesis 38:9-10: “Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother’s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother. But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the Lord; so He took his life also.”. Tattoos, of course, will enrage the Lord God your saviour; Leviticus 19:28 reads, “You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord.”. And polyester and other fabric blends are just as sinful as gay sex; Leviticus 19:19 reads, “You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.” You better check your clothes, those of you that were so keen to judge others and live by God’s word mind just find out your tee-shirt disqualifies you from the Lord’s Kingdom. It gets worse…. anyone who has lost a testicle to cancer isn’t allowed in Church – Deuteronomy 23:1 reads (this is the God’s Word translation, which spells it out better), “A man whose testicles are crushed or whose penis is cut off may never join the assembly of the Lord.”And I sincereley hope none of you moralistic bigots eat shellfish, because you know what that means? You can kiss goodbye to meeting your maker…. Leviticus 11:10 reads, “But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you.”

If you are going to use some ancient texts to judge other people – at least have the decency to be consistent, eh??!!

Tell you one of the things that gets me the most. If a person doesn’t believe in God, why do they care is I believe in a fairy tale. If they don’t believe the Bible is the holy anointed word of God, why do they want us to change it? If they honestly believe their is nothing wrong w/ the way they are living their life, why are they seeking the approval of the church?

Also the idea that Christians think God hates homosexuals is just ridiculous! God doesn’t hate people! The bible says, “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son.” Notice the word love here. God loves all people. What he hates is sin! Homosexuality is a sin, just like adultery is. There is no difference in the two…. well except for the fact that we as people find one to be less tasteful than the other. We goofed up when we started accepting any sin as acceptable.

Now the idiots that are out throwing rocks at homosexuals… that is wrong. Let God judge, NOT MEN!

Nick, I said nothing about following my morality, actually I’m a big proponent if you following your own. Couldn’t care less what anyone does as long as it doesn’t affect me in a negative way. Not against gay marriage per se, I’m against changing the definition of marriage solely for the door it opens. The gay community is very outspoken against christians in this discussion while painting with a wide brush. That’s bigotry, just as “christians” hating on gays. People want to cast stones, on both sides, but don’t believe that for one second that you are being righteous (not you in particular, of course) regardless of your stance if hate is your weapon of choice. Also, yes I have mixed fabric clothing… But I also view the bible as a book of moral standards, not a “follow every word without question or die in a fire”. I consider myself Christian but do not relate to other christians in most cases. I do not attend church because I don’t need someone else to explain his or her interpretation to me.

Thanks for the reply Cajun. I just find it bizarre that some Christians (maybe not you) will preach at others and use the Bible to defend their moral stance. Yet they are not consistent with which bits of the Bible they follow themselves. Mary, being gay is not a choice. You maybe don’t find girls sexually attractive. Is that a “choice” – or just the way you are? “Sexuality is as wide as the sea and your morality is not law” (Derek Jarman)

Nick, the reason those “christians” do so is because they likely have no moral compass of their own. They aren’t intelligent enough to defend their own beliefs without relying on someone smarter than themselves to finish their sentences. It’s not just on the Christian side though, ignorance is plentiful on both sides. Also, to Mary, I don’t know if being gay is a choice or not. I’m not gay so I couldn’t say either way but I wholeheartedly agree with getting rid of these double standards. The reason they exist though is the moral difference between the conservative group and the liberals. Conservatives, by definition, stick to themselves. It’s part of being self reliant, self supporting, self sustained (as far as the majority is concerned). Conservatives rarely band together (think tea party). The liberal mindset though, is that in order to get things done you must find a small, loud group to fight your battles and the masses will follow as long as their agenda is being pushed (think Obama, people being bussed to the polls). Its not going to stop as long as hate pimps such as Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Westboro Baptist Church types exist.

I am a Christian first and foremost and then an American. But let’s just say I were not a Christian- why is everyone else able to get away with saying anything they like with no reprecussion? This is why: His Word says that we as Christians will be persecuted. We’re already being fined in our schools for praying or worse, incarcerated. But we have to remember to stand strong in faith knowing that our redeemer is, was and always will be!!! This argument about gay rights is not about anyone getting their rights trampled on, but about we as Christians not able to proclaim His word. But yes, there will come a day soon enough when every knee will bow and every tongue confess and even the non believers will recognize the sound of the trumpet. We have to continue though, spreading his gospel and getting as many into his kingdom before that day comes. Jesus’s command to us before he left, was for us to love each other- that meant everyone. Remember, it’s easier to love your friend than a total stranger; but greater is your reward when you love and save that stranger. Blessings :)

Thank you, Les. The founding fathers were NOT all Christians. I am so sick of the ignorance of Christians in this.

The Bible is a book of beliefs, not facts. You may have your beliefs, but not force anyone to live by your beliefs.

Chick Fil A is a group of bigots who want to control people with their beliefs. They are not tolerant. I have yet to seen a gay asks a heterosexual to be involved on a gay marriage. They may believe as they wish, but their beliefs should NOT dictate policy.

Because of their rhetoric and constant use of the bible as “fact” I despise Christianiry.

Who said the Bible was written by God?

Leviticus was an early tribal attempt to establish community laws, and anyone who ever did jury duty should know that laws are not all good or fair, which is why eventually they may be improved.

There were plenty of self-styled “Christians” who owned slaves right here in the USA and fought a CIVIL WAR to defend this horrid practice.

The Catholic Church still claims to be THE authority in religion, but the hierarchy is giving my nun friends a bad time for actually trying to put the Beatitudes of Jesus into daily practice, while Bishops have been covering up the abuse of children by wayward Priests, rather than protecting children. That does not speak well for AUTHORITY.

As I explained before a Christian accepts God at His Word and He said it was a sin so being a sin it should not be “supported” by anyone that is a believer (Christian.)
The reason it bothers so many on here is because they are NOT believers (Christians) that accept God’s Word knowing He is the One to determint what is right or wrong!
One day we will ALL face Him one day, some to eternal ove and peace wile others to eternal punishment because of NOT believeing and accepting Christ as Lord of their lives. Thats just the way it is and NOTHING can change it, so the choice is your’s! Jusrt realize one day you will either fall into the hands of an angry God or be in the loving arms of Jesus!

This is not about gay rights or who is or isn’t a Christian. This is about a basic Freedom…FREEDOM OF SPEECH! Chic Filet has never expressed a note of hatred toward Gays..not said that they would not hire gays or serve gays. The owner was asked his opinion in a way that was a set-up. He expressed a view…a view that he is allowed to give under the constitution of the United States. Sure, people have a right to protest and to patronize the restaurant or not. That’s another right protected under the constitution. But too many folks are acting like Nazis while accusing the other side of acting like Nazis. Civil dialog seems to be becoming a thing of the past in this country. There are parties on both sides that are guilty of intolerance and there are folks on both sides that just see things with a different pair of glasses, so to speak. Good people on both sides and a lot of intolerant hypocrites on both sides. This will blow over…Another American tempest in a teapot sort of thing. Just my opinion and I’m entitled to it..but I fear that there are some that will suggest that nobody is entitled to any opinion that disagrees with theirs.

Please tell me what part of Mr. Cathy’s remarks are hateful. He stated his beliefs and then expressed love through how all people will be treated with respect. Christ teaches love. Yes, everyone is human and not perfect like Christ, so we cannot achieve perfection since we are yet sinners. 1st, love God with all your heart, soul & mind. 2nd, love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-40.

Christians do not belief in homosexuality, and will not endorse it. However, they will love all and treat all with respect.

Thank all the military and their families for the ultimate sacrifice so that everyone in this great nation can speak and live in freedom. In many other countries gays are be put to death just as in the old testament. The grace given to us through Christ’s sacrifice has set us all free if we choose to accept.

Those are my beliefs, and I stand by them through hatred and persecution.

Take a chance and do some research….sit down and talk to a gay person. You would be amazed at how much like you and me they actually are!!!

I am a heterosexual female. I can’t think of a time in my life when I was ever attracted to another female. That tells me that being heterosexual was not a choice for me.

Now, I’m also a Christian. I know that God created me to be the person I am. How long ago was the Bible written?? How much has the world changed since then?? I agree with Nick….if you are going to follow one rule in the Bible…you better be following all of them if you are living your life without sin!! I personally know a few preachers that preach on Sunday and are sinning the rest of the week!! Live what you preach folks!! I also think that God created people to be gays and lesbians. Who says he couldn’t have changed his mind about things over the years???

Say what you will about my post….I really don’t care. I believe in one God….the Lord Almighty…maker of Heaven and Earth. I pray, I ask forgiveness of my sins. I also believe that you can’t choose who you love. Be happy in life. Life is too short to be afraid and hesitate!!

Christians and non-Christians will always disagree. As Christians, we believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God. Non-Christians do not. As Americans, we believe in free speech … or at least we say we do. Sadly, too many hold to the double standard which accepts the free speech of those with whom they agree while demonizing those with whom they are in disagreement. That said, as a Christian I must stand against the homosexual lifestyle. Also as a Christian, I am commanded by God to love my neighbor as I love myself. That does not mean that I must be in agreement with everything my neighbor does. Why, then, am I not free to voice my Biblically held belief in the sinfulness of homosexuality without being accused of “hate speech” or being part of a “hate group”? To me, there is more hatred coming toward Christians than there is toward homosexuals. I WANT TO MAKE THIS CLEAR! I DO NOT APPROVE OF, SUPPORT, OR CONDONE THE HATE-SPEECH OF SO-CALLED CHRISTIANS WHO PARADE THEIR IGNORANCE BEFORE GOD AND EVERYONE! But, I will continue to pray for all the people of this nation and this world, that they would come to know the truth. And, in obedience to God, I will do so in love!

(134) Jason says:

First, Christianity is NOT a religion. Anyone who says differently doesn’t get it. It’s a relationship with Jesus. The Bible is NOTHING more than the greatest relationship handbook ever written. It teaches you how to treat God, yourself, your spouse, your children, parents, friends, enemies, neighbors, coworkers, leaders, employers, employees, etc.

Second, the term OLD TESTAMENT is anti-semetic. The ONLY part of the “Old Testament” that is no longer relevant is The Law (it came in three parts, The Law, The Writings, and The Prophets) everything from Joshua to Malachai IS relevant, since most of it is history. There are end-time prophecies in Daniel (which is in the “Old Testament”) that haven’t come to pass yet.

July 31, 2012 at 12:07 am
(135) Jason says:

Third, The Bible says lots of things. Unfortunately most people take it out of context. Way out of context. If homosexuality were a concern in ANY WAY to Jesus Christ, I think that He would have mentioned it SOMEWHERE in the Gospels, The Book of Acts, or even Revelation. He says nothing. People look AT the scripture, but not INTO the scripture – they don’t use the Holy Ghost to guide them. The verses regarding homosexuality that everyone likes to quote, aren’t about homosexuality at all. The issue with men having sex with men and women having sex with women when the Bible was written is this…There were LOTS of different religions around (kind of like today), MOST of these religions were based around, in one degree or another, sex. The verses about homosexuality aren’t about same-sex relationships…they’re about WORSHIP. With their sex acts, they were not honoring God.

They were worshiping GENITALS. They were worshiping the sensations that sex gives us. There are lots of people who condemn any sex act aside from the traditional vaginal sex. These SAME PEOPLE don’t realize that there’s an ENTIRE BOOK in the Bible about NOTHING but sex. If you name a sex act, it’s in there.

The First Commandment is “Thou shall have no other gods before me”. In Isaiah 42:8 it says: I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

If you worship ANYTHING other than God, you’re giving that THING glory. God wants the glory for himself (he more than deserves it) and doesn’t want people worshiping something through a sex act.

That being said, sex doesn’t have to come with marriage. Paul says that it’s BETTER to marry if two people are lusting after one another.

July 31, 2012 at 12:08 am
(136) jason says:

1 Corinthians 7:9 – But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

People like Fred Phelps and the like (I’ll lump Chick-Fil-A into that mix) say things like “God hates fags”. That’s the SAME THING as saying “God hates women”, “God hates Negroes”, or “God hates “. God made us (people) in his own image. Jeremiah was told “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee” – this is God telling Jeremiah why he’s a prophet, but it applies to all of us. If God made someone gay…HE KNOWS THEY’RE GAY! It’s not a mistake or an accident. It’s an act of divine will.

The CLOSEST thing that Jesus said about homosexuality is in Matthew 19:12.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

July 31, 2012 at 12:08 am
(137) jason says:

According to wikipedia: A eunuch ( /ˈjuːnək/; Greek: Ευνούχος) is a person who (by the common definition of the term eunuch) may have been castrated, typically early enough in his life for this change to have major hormonal consequences. Less commonly, in translations of ancient texts, “eunuch” may refer to a man who is not castrated but who is impotent, celibate or otherwise not inclined to marry and procreate.

Almost every person who has come out of the closet has stated that they were born that way. “For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb”; some people turn away from the opposite sex after a traumatic bout of sexual abuse “and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men”. Both of these groups cannot procreate with their sexual orientation. The third group takes a vow of chastity for the cross. They’re straight but choose not to have sex (or children) because their life is focused on the ministry of Jesus.

There’s a LOT of speculation (and very, very good argument) that David (a man after God’s heart) and Jonathon were gay. In fact, David loved Jonathan so much that it ruined his marriage. If God hates gays and David loved another man to the point of DESTROYING HIS MARRIAGE WITH A WOMAN, why wasn’t David struck dead at any time?

Well Christian, (above comment, not the religion)

You are right in saying that people are born white, black, asian, etc….
But, not all people have a say in being gay, bisexual, or straight. For example: If a straight woman is beat by a man ( or vice-versa, it doesn’t really matter) she may decide to say she’s gay in the fear of men. On the other hand, people are born the way they are. They can’t help who they are! The only reason they don’t say it from birth is because 1) It’s not the first thing you think of. You don’t just say, “Oh, I’m gay” People learn who they are attracted to as they grow up. (so do straight people) 2) It’s a shame that it is hard to come out on the fear of being beaten or teased for it.
Also, it seems you are straight so think about this….. Gay people can’t reproduce, so if they are not creating gay children, straight and some bisexual people are!

And about rich and poor people…. Even if you try very hard to get the highest job you possibly can, people can’t become rich by bring taxed more heavily than the born rich.

texas9-
Wow, someone doesn’t know many gay people! Many are completely monogamous, how dare you make that comment. How come straight people are able to go out and get married, sometimes while drunk while gay people have to go sometimes across the country to be unified in holy matrimony? (and, yes some are Christians, and yes some are legally married under God’s name)
“The lifestyle itself is entrenched in pornography” -hello? How long has pornography been alive? And who invented it, oh yeah, straight people. Straight pornography was alive a ways before gay porn. The only thing we seem to agree on is that porn should not be existant. What do you think the ‘gay agenda’ is? -to make people uncomfortable, ruin society, and destroy the meaning of family and marriage ? Well you need to get your head out of the gutter and realize this is the 21st century. People are gay and have been gay for years, the sky isn’t falling, and the world isn’t ending. The only reason the world would worsen is if stupid political decisions were made to make the economy fail. Also, many people grow up with 2 same sex parents. Most grow up grounded in good peaceful beliefs of equality for everyone, not just christians and not just straight people. There are an abundant amount of faults in all different kinds of marriage. People should be able to marry who they want if they truly love each other and respect each other and other people. Those that are drunk while married, or get without true love, etc.. are ruining the meaning and holy part of marriage.

Interesting fact: People tend to look down apon and be harsh towards things that they wish they were not.

I don’t understand why people can’t live in peace together and try to focus on boosting our economy instead of who people love or create a REAL family with.

And I have questions for all that don’t agree with gay/ bi/ trans relationships: Does it hurt you and your relationship with your partner to see someone else happy with a same-sex partner? Does it give you real pain? What if everything was switched and gay people outnumbered straight, if straight people were the ones descriminated against, and gay people took a bible and put it in your face saying, ” God hates you for ____(enter outrageous reason)!” “You’re not going to heaven you sinner!” “Go to hell!” How would you feel in knowing in your heart you are doing the right thing but stillare being looked down apon by many if not most other people? If you think they should go to hell and think they will anyway, why do you care what they do before that if they are ‘destined for hell’ ?

All I’m trying to say is that people (no matter what race, sexual orientation, or that amount in their bank account) should coexist peacefully without having to be emotionally or phyiscally harmful to one another. Can someone tell me if it exactly says in the Bible “You my children shall hurt people who do differently from my teachings” “You shall make their lives a living hell since they are deemed there anyway” “gay marriage is immoral” Does it really say those exact phrase? I don’t think so! Do you really have to twist God’s words?

Now that I’ve gotten this off my chest, I hope this will make some people rethink their negative thoughts.
Peace to ALL.

Being able to put their partner on their health insurance, being able to file taxes together….. This is also very specifically an attack on gay people. If you are supporting them, you are not being patriotic. Making laws to remove and prevent civil rights is against everything that our country is founded on. These people are trying to do just that. They are wrong and they are shameful. They are also wasting huge sums of money in this drive to keep gays as second class citizens. There is absolutely no real, logical reasons for this that are not based on religious beliefs and we live in a country that is supposed to have a separation of church and state. No one has yet to come up with any valid reason to deny gay poeple equal rights other than the bible and we don’t all have to live by the bible. So basically what it all comes down to is that people think gay people are icky and gross so they shouldn’t have equal rights.

Are these people children? They are certainly acting like little children who don’t want to share their toys with the kid they think is weird. Grow up people and mind your own business. Get out of other peoples bedrooms. What one couple does in the privacy of theiur bedroom has nothing to do with you. Gay couples have already gotten married in some states and yet I don’t see Hitler riding a dinosaur across the country burning everyone with his laser beam eyes. Society has not fallen apart yet. Straight people are not suddenly turning gay or becoming satanists for no reason. Gay couples getting married has nothing to do with your marriage. It doesn’t change it in any way, shape or form. You are not suddenly singles again. Your marriage vows don’t just disintegrate into ashes and make your wedding vanish from history. Also if I may ask nicely, can anyone who says that gay marriage is going to ruin the sanctity of marriage please google the current straight divorce rate, google Kardasian weddings, Brittany Spears weddings, Vegas weddings, Who Wants to Marry A Millionaire, The Bachelor and most recently North Carolina where you can’t marry someone of the same sex but you can marry your cousin. After you look at all of that, please realize that your arguments are invalid, selfish, childish, mean, wasteful and just plain rude. Didn’t your mommas raise any of you better than that? Please stop. Thanks

Boycotting Chick-Fil-A because of religious beliefs. The owners have their religious beliefs, but they are not pushing them onto others and they are NOT refusing service to homosexuals. There’s a little thing in the Constitution re: the tolerance of religious freedom. So if the politicians are being a-holes attempting to score voting points, the populace need to see through their crap. Otherwise, they become lemmings incapable of thinking for themselves and follow a Pied Piper over a cliff.

CFA can spend their monies anyway they want. They don’t tell you how to spend your money. Don’t like it? Don’t spend your money there and move on. But we are a weaker nation if we can’t tolerate them and allow them to build their businesses in our communities. They’ve been around since 1946… 66 years… AND NOW YOU’RE GONNA COME UP WITH THIS CRAP??? Just continue being the politicians lemmings. Keep drinkin’ the Kool-Aid and jumpin’ off the cliff.

Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that as an observant Orthodox Jew homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned in any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet:)
PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS WIDELY.
Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 1 5: 19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself ?

July 31, 2012 at 2:38 am
(152) Sundari says:

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
i) i) I know from Lev.11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19, by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24: 10-16) Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God’s word is eternal and unchanging. Your devoted disciple and adoring fan,
Jake.

(153) Dave says:

Juan C. – It is interesting that when expressing an opinion that is different than your own, that you feel obligated to call it “hate speech”. Christians in general do not insist that you not exercise your right to free speech, but you and your kind do insist that we cannot exercise our right. We don’t call your speech “hate speech” unless you call us names and lie about what we are saying, something that happens all the time, even in your own message. You, on the other hand, do it quite freely without out even explaining how it is, in fact hateful.

Reading ALL of the media available, not just the newspapers or the TV, one finds that if you consider all of the rallies about gay marriage, you find there is far more violence associated with pro-gay marriage rallies and their responses to the pro traditional marriage rallies. I wonder why that is? I think it is quite obvious, when one honestly looks at the players and their actions, who the “haters” are and who is just trying to stand up for what they believe.

The Christian community is just trying to get its message out there without telling you that you can’t do the same. You, on the other hand, just want to shut us up and call us “haters”. Just these obvious facts alone make you appear to be one of the haters. Sorry. The facts speak for themselves, and that, is also free speech.

Christians — SOME Christians — sure do come across as stupid with this sort of thing. These signs are fake, but they’re being forwarded as truth by some Christians who are gullible enough to believe everything that plops into their inboxes and speaks to their prejudices. These Christians do NOT — DO NOT!! — speak for me as a Christian! Isn’t there still a commandment that says “Thou shalt not bear false witness” … or did they tear that one out of their Bibles? I guess a lie becomes the truth when the end justifies the means.

I have read a super-majority (although quickly since there are so many) remarks concerning Chic-Fil-A. The fact of the matter is that I support Dan Cathy and the Cathy Family in this matter.
Now before everyone gets riled up (again), Christians are not perfect (as some Liberals would like to portray them to be), they are just forgiven. Now take into context this issue of what Dan Cathy said “Marriage Is Between One Man and One Woman”, and I totally agree.
In the Book of Deuteronomy (Old Testament) it outright states that if a Man Sleeps With A Man then he is to be STONED TO DEATH and Woman Who Sleeps With Woman and or a Man or Woman who has an affair with another person’s spouse is to be put to death by fire (Please feel free to read for yourselves)
Granted, there are several Christians out there who take everything to the extreme as to biblical beliefs, but they do so at their own peril by perverting the word of God to fit their definition of What A Christian Is.

July 31, 2012 at 8:36 am
(158) Here'sTheDeal says:

Here’s the deal. You want to know the truth about what the Bible says about gay marriage?

Leviticus 18:22
“Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.”

Leviticus 20:13
“If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
” Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL OFFENDERS nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanders nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

So, if you want to be any of these things listed above, that is your decision and I will pray for you soul as will the rest of the Christians. But do NOT expect God to forgive you for your sins if you do not change your ways and repent before the end of your life. Not everyone will go to Heaven. There is a Hell and come judgement day, some of you will be sorry. I am not in any way shape or form perfect. I have daily struggles just like everyone else. But on judgement day, I want God to ask me “What have you done for me?” And I don’t want to stand there saying “Umm…. Well… You see. What happened was…” I want to be able to tell him everything I did for him because that is why we were put on this Earth. Not to bicker or argue or fight. But to do the good work of God. If you don’t believe in God and Heaven, then like i said before, we will all pray for your soul.
If you want to know the real truth about homosexuality, open a Bible and read exactly what it says.

Tim says:

If everyone would stop pretending to know what God wanted — on both sides of this issue — and actually practiced the core tenet behind Christianity (and most religions really) — LOVE — then the world would be a much better place.
Tim- people DON’T pretend if they read and quote His Word- it is God that states about His New City (Heaven):

Revelation 21:23-27, The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

The only people that don’t like this are those that violate it regardless if “they” themselves PRETEND to be a Christian!

Wow. @ Sundari- lol! Good one! First comment that made me laugh. Thank you for that.

Have you ever played the game where you sit in a circle with a bunch of people, one person whispers something in the ear to the person on their right and then that person whispers the same exact thing to the next person on their right and so on? The bible wasn’t written until AFTER Jesus died. Do you think it’s word-for-word from Him? After all the people who heard Him speak, do YOU honestly only believe a few who claim to know what he actually said when He talked with thousands? And not everyone could read or write then either. What’s lost in translation?

Do YOU honestly think that ALL the books of the bible are intact? What about his Mom? Wouldn’t she have something to say about her Son? Most parents LOVE to talk about their kids. Why not Jesus’ mom, too? What about the women who followed Jesus? Why aren’t there books from his female followers? To keep control, any contradiction would be removed, correct? Don’t you think 2000+ years could have lost some important books along the way or have been removed to keep people from hearing the true message?

Open your hearts ALONG with your minds people! Jesus taught about loving one another, not hate and separation. Hmmm….wow, think of that. LOVE instead of hate and separation. What would the world be like if ALL books would have been intact and not just the few?

Look deep in your hearts and HONESTLY ask yourself: Am I thinking with my heart or am I just following the crowd that best suits my wants and desires, no matter who it might hurt? God gave us free will. That means He wants us to act, think, respond and live with HIS LOVE foremost in our thoughts and actions. Will my thoughts and/or actions hurt someone else? THAT should be first and foremost in EVERYONE’S mind and hearts.

Please, for all our sakes, think with your HEART and MIND on the above and try to have a pleasant day.

Namaste.

You might also be interested to find that god orders infanticide, child molestation, murder and rape. What was the best part? Oh, right: less than half of the bible is actually “christian”. If you have so little self-awareness and personal responsibility as to believe this trash, great. The bible has been altered thousands of times. If we followed it to a fine point we would be back to living like savages of ancient times. Women would not have rights. Black people would still be slaves and countless other things.

And about that whole people choose to be gay thing. Do you physically make the choice to be attracted in any way, shape, or form to the opposite sex? Every day: Do you say to yourself, hmm… I think I will see only the opposite sex as attractive today. You can’t help who you are attracted to, you can’t help who you love. It isn’t a choice. I don’t care what you god says, if he really cared about the gays being an “abomination” then I’d pretty sure he’d do something about it. Just like he’d do something about all the evil that’s walking the earth right now. Grow up and stop being such babies. We aren’t in the old biblical times. If you want to have anything to whine about, then whine about the fact that this society is so messed up that no one has any hope. Children walk around disrespecting their elders and their parents don’t do anything about it. People are up and shooting people at a batman showing. If we all just quit calling it “marriage” and instead called it a civil union, which is the legal aspect of marriage, would everyone just get over what people do in their personal lives? Many non-religious people get married. To them, a marriage license is just a legal document. This isn’t about Christianity or religion, its about a person wanting to be able to make decisions for another person they have committed to caring for into old age. This requires the ability to make financial and health related decisions. For this they need a legal document, equal rights is letting everyone have the option to enter into that legal agreement.

We should all be allowed freedom of speech, whether you support gay rights or you don’t. The gay community is preaching tolerance and freedom of speech, but I guess they only believe that that is okay if you support them. Maybe the gay community and its supporters believe that if you support the gay lifestyle, then you’re allowed freedom of speech; if you don’t support it, then keep your mouth shut because it’s discrimination and all this BS.
Again, I do not support the gay lifestyle or any aspect of or relating to it, but I will not discriminate against gays. They say we should be tolerant of them because they are gay; why can’t they be tolerant of those who do not support that lifestyle? I guess they have the mindset that you’re entitled to your own opinions and beliefs as long as it is in agreement with theirs.

1 Corinthians 6:9 The words men who have sex with men translate two Greek words that refer to the passive and active participants in homosexual acts.

So there you have it. 5 additional translations of your prescious New Testiment passage. So you have it translated as homosexual (a word that was never found in the greek language, since people didn’t identify themselves by their sexual orientation..) Men who sleep with men, a male prostitute, or effeminate. Which sounds more likely since the Bible has always had a thing against women.

(192) Ellen says:

This whole argument is stupid. It is a legal matter, not a religious one. I am married. In order for me to be legally married, my husband and I had to apply to the state we live in for a marriage license….. the STATE… NOT “God”. Neither of us are religious, and never will be. I am so tired of the self righteous Christians in this country thinking they can dictate morality to everyone else, and I cannot even fathom why it is that Dan Cathy thinks his opinion is so important that he needs to publicly broadcast it., but he does. It’s the rest of the religious zealots out there that think they will actually accomplish something by preaching their version of morality. By the way – Regardless of what the Bible says, or what your church tells you, Gay people, people of other religions, Atheists, … immigrants (god forbid) anyone and everyone – have as much legal right in this country to their beliefs as you do yours. So, get over yourselves!

Why is everyone arguing about this? Why does everyone say that America was founded on Christian believes? It wasn’t. They specifically made the constitution for freedom of religion, not to have the whole country be one denomination. American is supposed to be the home of the free, for people to live how they want, without harming other people. And I don’t see why everyone cares so much about homosexual marriage, what happens in their bedroom is between two CONSENTING ADULTS and has nothing to do with us. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like it if other people judged you because of what you do. If you want to use the Bible to justify hate, remember is say you will not judge other people, that is for God to do, not man. I may not be Christian, but I do have a lot of Christian friends and I used to go to church, so I know what the bible say and never once did it say to spread hatred throughout the world. You are more than welcome to have an opinion and so am I, but you should really think before you say something stupid. And for all of the lesbian, gay, transgender, bi people out there, I respect you for standing up, even though the world seems to always stand against you. Just some food for thought.

The sanctity of marriage as intended by God was intended for love to be given. In the olden days, a man could have multiple wives. It may be intended by God but it is interpreted by MAN. And if I am not much mistaken, in the beginning, God told man to go and find a partner suitable for him. He did not say go and find a woman. So find a better excuse for your bigotry because the Bible doesn’t support it anymore.

Not partaking of a product because of its creators beliefs is probably the single most retarded thing I’ve ever heard of. Do you think that by you not eating their food, you’re hurting them? They have millions and millions, if not billions, invested in other things. They will continue to be rich whether or not you eat/buy/use their products. You’re only depriving yourself of enjoying something that you actually like.

And just something to think about, I guarantee that if you personally knew the creators of every product made/sold in America today, you would find SOMETHING about them you didnt agree with. So if you’re really going to try to “boycott” every product that comes from a source that you dont agree with, have fun starving to death in the gutter.

What I find interesting is the CFO of chick fil la- utilizing his position of power to spread his “opinion”. No one in disagreement that all are entitled to opinion, but why does it have to be shoved down our throats? Issues that don’t directly affect you, particularly annoy me. How does two individuals getting married affect you. Why do you even argue it. Religion attempts to become too embroiled with issues that are responsibility of government. Some Christians speak that this is gods way and this is how it is written in bible. The definition on marriage was stated in previous comments. As the world changed, many examples can be pointed to, that are different from bible.
Birth control Is an example. The world adapts. I understand many don’t like change, but knock it off already. Why get so hot under collar over issues that don’t affect you personally?

(202) Suzanne says:

Seems like it is okay for everyone except Christians to express whatever they want. Why doesn’t it work both ways?
Mr. Cathy has not discriminated nor expressed hatred toward anyone. He only gave his opinion that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
And whatever anyone may believe, up to this point, we are free to express our opinion. Or did I miss where that freedom was taken away? It does seem to be what some people want to do. And the way Mr. Cathy is being persecuted, it may soon be accomplished. However, Mr. Cathy is old. He will soon receive his reward from our Lord Jesus who will say to him “Well done, good and faithful servant.”. And that won’t be because he hated anyone. It will be because he lived his life abiding in God’s Word to the best of his ability.
And as Joli said above, one day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
I will continue to eat at Chick Fil A. I can certainly give Mr. Cathy my support by doing that. A lot of us wouldn’t have the nerve to risk what he has done.

@Texas7 and anyone else who thinks that the reason divorce rates are high today is because the Bible has been taken out of our lives….

Divorce rates are HIGHEST among born-again conservative Christians and lowest among atheists, as discovered by an evangelical Christian researcher.

http://atheism.about.com/od/atheistfamiliesmarriage/a/AtheistsDivorce.htm

” The difference in divorce rates is particularly interesting given the fact that the Christians getting divorced in the highest numbers are among the same Christians who are most likely to raise an alarm about the state of marriage in society. They also tend to be the same Christians who want to deny gays the right to marry on the assumption that gay marriage is a “threat” to the institution of marriage. If marriage is in any danger in America, perhaps the threat comes from the unstable marriages of conservative Christians, not the relationships of gays or the marriages of godless atheists.”

I am so thankful that I have the freedom to speek. The sad thing is that gays enjoy thier freedom to exprees thier sexual preferrance but when someone does not agree with them, they (the gay people) want to take away the same rights they enjoy and tell another american they must be silenced and have no right to speek. If you were gay and you lived in the middle east, you could be killed for being gay. But you cry becasue someone belives that marirage is between one man and one woman. I don’t agree with same sex marraige and the gay community does. So there goes two diverse opinions. Why is it that you (the gay community) want to take away my constitutional right to speek. The courts have allowed gay marrauge in many states. Even if all the states allow gay marraige, I stiil have the right to dissagree. The same right that you (Gay people) have the right to be gay in this land of the free. I excersice my right to believe in the Bible. Will you try and take that from me also? The rights that we enjoy were established by men who believed the Bible.

I wish they were true. I would like to see big business support each other. Everyone is entitled to their stance and the fact that they support a religious belief should not be held against them. I do not believe city officials in Boston, Chicago & Philadelphia should use their positions to say they disagree and don’t want their restaurants in their city. It is not THEIR city, it is the people’s city of which I’m sure there are varying viewpoints as I thought this was America and we are allowed to have our opinions, even Chick Fil A. If you don’t want to eat there, fine. But don’t try to bankrupt a business because you disagree with their belief. If you look further into all businesses the majority would probably have at least one cause or support you disagree with. I’d say you’d be eating at home but I’m sure some of the products at the grocery store are made by companys that also have differing opinions. Keep things in perspective and use a voice for real causes.

The FREEDOM of religion is what this country was built on…but it seems that has been forgotten somewhere along the line.
Most religious systems have a fundamental belief of respect, love, and cooperation – and a figure head that taught these lessons – Buddah and Jesus, for example both taught of love and compassion. Christians have a right to believe what they do…and bring that message to those that CHOOSE to hear it. I dont remember anywhere in the bible of examples of Jesus doing the things you hear in the media these days – in fact, did he not eat with the tax collectors and sinners?? Didnt he scold his disciples for STOPPING the prostitute from approaching him in the crowd? He also gave the option to CHOOSE to follow him – his EXACT words! And if they did not, he did not harrass, belittle, or disrespect – he said “shake off your feet” and move on. I suggest, for those that would like to use the title of “Christian” that perhaps they consider following the example the way it was meant to be.

They asked a man who is a Christian, of course he is going to defend is views, and his views are going to be based on the Bible. He isn’t going to change his views because of the “norm” of society, he is going to stick to what the Bible says is true. I’m a Christian and I believe the same. I love gays and bisexuals, I love them, I do, but I do not agree with their practice. So do not hate on the restaurant because of what the restaurant was founded on, what the owner’s views are. If you decide to boycott Chick-fil-a, there are going to be many more companies that you should be boycotting then! Grow up people, those are your beliefs. The traditional view of Christianity is that being gay is wrong, so does Muslims, the Jewish population, Catholics, and many more religions. This one guy decided he would say what he believed in an interview. So respect his beliefs instead of hating on him. If you hate on his beliefs than you are just as “guilty” as he is, as what you are saying anyways.

But, that doesn’t mean we support marriage between two men or two women. It is very hypocritical for homosexuals to criticize and show such strong anger to Christians for not supporting gay marriage. …I have nothing to say on the religion side of the matter but the whole ‘sanctity of marriage’ phrase gets to me.

I just really encourage people to actually investigate the history of marriage and it’s origins and how it was used initially and throughout it’s existence. There was nothing good, right, or ‘sanctified’ about how the concept of marriage has been used to hurt people. ‘The definition of marriage’ that is being so ‘terribly’ redefined has already been redefined and never really for the worse.

Actually, I’m quite happy that I can no longer be sold to the highest bidder under the guise of marriage. Grateful, even. I praise God and Jesus for the wonderful freedom and happiness that their plan has enabled marriage to evolve into something positive.

I pray that God continues to bless us with wonderful changes that help love and peace to reign over his Earth.

So I’m not really upset about the ‘sanctity of marriage’ changing, it’s been changing for centuries now with social costumes, and I’m kinda happy that we are in God’s Land Of The Free. Where marriage is defined as the next step in a relationship between a loving and devoted couple.

This is exactly the kind of phony issue kept alive by the Dumbocrats. Their candidate is such a loser they have to divert attention from incompetence. Listen, I don’t think any of the Dimocrats ever got out of the 3rd grade, and it shows. Here’s the deal: THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES.

(247) basic human rights says:

So, did it ever occur to anyone that people can believe however they want to….especially since it is a first amendment right? To limit the rights of anybody in a society because of a moral code written by man (and I might get hate responses for this, but it is true), is unjust and unfair to those who hold no particular affiliation to such code. All we are talking about is who people want to spend their lives with and validating rights inherent to everyone as human beings. I fail to see where people actually have a problem with this other than it is written as wrong in an interpretive moral code. Help me to understand this without getting into circular arguments and we can have a discussion, however, if your argument stems from the fact that your book is infallible, then I have no use for your argument. Thanks for reading

(248) Y'all got it wrong..... says:

This whole thing isn’t about homosexual “marriage”. The Dan Cathey/CFA story is a tiny part of a much BIGGER story.

Homosexuals are demanding that laws be passed that gives them special status. They’re after special tax benefits. They’re after workpace protection under the law so they can behave in an openly homosexual manner without being harrassed or (Oh, no!) ostracized by coworkers or employers. In short, they want special protection (assaulting one & calling him names would receive harsher penalties than if you assaulted him without the moniker), which would elevate them in status above non-homosexuals. That’s what they want. They want to be able to sit in a family restaurant & make out like a couple horny teenagers (a boy & a girl, I must add) who would go hide in a dark parking lot of under the high school bleachers to do what these homosexuals want to shove in everyone’s faces.

I hope that, if they manage to have this so-called “kiss in” at CFAs across America, that they’re quickly given the boot & hauled off in the back seats of patrol cars or paddy wagons if they fail to respond as requested.

What really irks me is, we are ALL created in the image of God. Every last one of us. Why – WHY would anyone want to thumb their noses at God? Sheesh! HE LOVES US!!! All He wants is for us to love Him back.

First off, Christianity isn’t the only religon. There are other religions that are just as legitamite as Christianity.

Second, Jesus said nothing about homosexuality. In fact there isn’t any indication of his sexual orientation.

I for one am tired of a small group of “Christians” tell us what is and isn’t the word of God. We all do not believe the Bible in the same way.

“Christians” have used the same reasoning to deny freedom and equality to Blacks and women, the vote for women, Gays in the military, etc. Mr. Catay’s Bapist demonination was at the forefront of most of these arguments.

There is a lot of stuff in the Bible that was put there by the church of the time and it ain’t real pretty Stone your children if they disresprect you and do not behave! try that one today! Every citizen of this country has a right to say what they want. There may be repercussions and they may be good or bad. I applaud Dan Cathy for being courageous enough to state his veiw and that of his company. That is his right. Mike huckabee making it a gay rights vs. christian battle ground is a shame but, also his right. [1 of 2] I am going to say this. I am a Christian, and I believe what the president of Chick-Fil-A said is inappropriate. He hates the act of gays? Sure, that’s fine. But, either way, hate is a sin. Don’t agree? Go back and read the Bible.

I do not support their “beliefs.” If you support their beliefs, you should also believe that stake is bad, cannot curse your parents [Lev 20:9] (I’m sure everyones done that at some point), cannot sleep with your wife while she is bleeding [Lev 20:18], “people who have flat noses, or is blind or lame, cannot go to an altar of God” [Lev 21:17-18], based on the third Comandment, NO ONE should do ANY work on the Sabbath, “If you find out a city worships a different god, destroy the city and kill all of it’s inhabitants… even the animals” [Deut 13:12-15], “Kill anyone with a different religion” [Deut 17:2-7], also a women should kill a dove for every day she bleeds as well be sent away from her husband for that week, as well as many many more things we do not do in accordance with the Bible.

I cannot believe that “real Christians” will pick and choose one or a few random ideas from the Bible and curse those who follow those few ideas. We as Christians are supposed to love EVERYONE as God loves us. Does God judge us? No. He loves us, he forgives us. Is it our duty to judge someone for being gay because he/she has biologically felt that way since before he/she was born? No. We should love and forgive him/her just as God has loved and forgiven us. It is wrong to judge the way the owner of Chick-Fil-A judges gays, and I do not support him, and I do not like those who agree and support this claim, yet I forgive the mislead as God has forgiven me.

(256) Scott says:

(256) Kelsie, an individual cannot evolve.
Evolution is the change in the genetic composition of a Population (more than a single person) over time.
Evolution is also a random process resulting from mutations in DNA so you can’t just go tell someone to evolve spontaneously.

And I think that being homosexual is not the way God has intended us to be. That’s why he created Adam and Eve and says not to be homosexual in the bible. (1 Timothy 1:10)

For those saying that christians are hypocrites in declaring not to be gay yet continue to break God’s other commands, you are missing something.
They are not claiming to be perfect, no man is. Repentance is the key! Whether you are practicing homosexuality, lying, stealing, murdering, etc. You must realize that you are sinning and want to change the way your are living to better align yourself with Gods commands. However, If you choose to ignore what God was commanded you and say that God is wrong when he says not to be homosexual, to lie, to steal, and choose be complacent living your own way, then your in trouble my friends.

Let us now respectfully encourage one another in doing what is right!

Supporting equal rights for all is fine, but when groups such as the gays want equal rights as well as “special” rights..that’s where the line is drawn. I have said this a thousand times….if they don’t support traditional marriage then they dare not criticize us for not supporting gay marriage. If they would keep their sex lives to themselves instead of shoving it down everyone’s throats, there wouldn’t be a problem. If they want to be gay, fine, BUT KEEP IT AT HOME! They want tolerance, yet they vandalize buildings…no one at the Chik fil A appreciation day had gay bashing signs, yet you saw all kinds of gays with hateful signs. This is called a double standard. We don’t HAVE to like their lifestyle and if they demand freedom of speech they better be prepared for what’s coming back at them. They are the most self-centered, selfish people I have ever seen. All you so called Christians are very judgmental. Cast the first stone, sound familiar?! Isn’t it already enough that you pick and choose from the bible to what suits whatever your agenda may be? The bible has changed so much over the past 200 years, because it gets updated with times. That sounds like the manipulation of the word of your so called “god” to me. I don’t really care what you believe in, god, buddha, a tree, I don’t care. Marriage equality is not about what’s written in the bible. It’s about Civil Rights, no one should be denied the same liberties that any other human being is afforded soley based on their sex. If they are two consenting adults, and they want to marry, and share a life of love, then, what’s so wrong with that? Love, is greatest thing that two people can share with each other. Love. What’s so wrong with it? Let those who choose to show it, show it. And, let’s move on to more important issues, like the kids who are starving in America today, the pollution of our earth, ect. There are more and better things to get resolved then worrying about who gets married. Come on, let’s actually use those brains that “God” gave you.

To all the Fundamentalist Christians out there: If you all lived by everything that was written in the Bible I would love to meet you, because you would be holier than anyone on Earth. It is impossible for you to live by the bible in the modern world. You all say it was written by God, it was (if you believe in God) written by men who interpreted Gods word (so they say). There is not one bit of the bible Jesus wrote; it was all interpretations, which were written by men claiming it to be the word of God. I don’t believe for one minute that God would approve of this book being used using ‘his’ words to spread hatred to anyone who has done nothing wrong. There is nothing wrong with being gay, it is who you are, these so called Christians who say they hate the sin and not the sinner are living in cloud cuckoo land, the so called ‘sin’ is who the person is, it is what defines them, you take away their love for the same sex then all that would be left of them would be an empty shell of a human being. Wake up you fools and realise that homosexuality is normal and natural, I know I am probably banging my head against a brick wall but it makes me so angry that these fundamentalists are so brainwashed.

Believing in any God if preposterous, might as well believe in unicorns, fairies, trolls, elves, Jesus, Santa, Easter bunnies, flying reindeer, or any other thing that hasn’t been imagined or ininvented by man yet. Religion is an idea invented by humans to control other humans and to hopefully keep them civil. Being gay or whatever you choose is exactly that a choice. No matter how much you want people to believe you were born that way so they will leave you alone and respect that choice. The only great truth in life is free will. You have the free will to do any thing you chose whether it’s believing in outdated ideas, helping others or harming them everything you do is freedom of choice the only thing that trumps this is reality the laws of physics and so on. Happiness and tranquility to all goodbye.

(269) religionisstupidity says:

read more comments had to say more. First of all let me say I’m a man married to a woman with three kids. Now to the people that are going to argue that being gay is not a choice. I think the human body is beautiful in either form. And sex would be pleasurable regardless of gender its with its all just skin and nerve endings. No real differences in the anatomy of the genders except penises and vaginas and they are very similar just inside out versions of each other. Mouths, hand’s, anuses, take away sight and sound and you would have a tuff time telling the difference. So it is a choice either based on experiences, things that happened in your life and multiple other factors. When this happens in nature in animals it is instinct. But humans have free will its what seperates us from animals therefore homosexuality is a choice.

When you present religious people with logic such as this they immediately go to the Bible like it’s die hard evidence but that book(books are a creation of man) was written by lying imperfect self serving sinners (as the religious folk would call them). Paper, words, ink, letters, writing utensils all created by man. The fact of the matter (no matter how much you wanna deny it because you want to feel better about your bad choices and wrongs to others) is that there is no evidence or proof of the existence of any gods or creators. Religion is all about fear and the promise of absolution.

If I kiss my wife in public, hell if I wanna screw her brains out in front of your God and everybody and you had a problem with it I would tell you to go fu#k yourself. None of us has to answer to any one other person or group. That is the problem with humanity we all believe we have the right to control others and impose our opinions on others but unless your opinions are fact them they don’t mean nothing. Controlling others is the definition of true evil thinking that any one person knows best or should be in charge of others is wrong hitler thought that way. People say that they do not want to support Chik-Fil-A because they voiced their opinion on something that they believed in; should that really matter on whether or not to buy their product? It is sad that groups of people decide to boycott and get other people to boycott an establishment based on the fact that their beliefs differ, even if it is an honest establishment such as Chik-Fil-A. It is not like they are refusing service to homosexual individuals or treating them any differently than the regular customer. Customer service is great, and the food is as high a quality as fast food can offer. With all beliefs aside, Chik-Fil-A has never done anything immoral or unethical to be boycotted by people. (274) You are all missing something says:

Government and Religion are separate, and should be separated according to the constitution of the United States. Therefore banning gay marriage based on religious beliefs is not allowed by law and we shouldn’t even have to allow it in the first place (it is a right all people have to choose who they want to be with). For all those saying Marriage is a Christian act, then why are people who are not religious allowed to get married? and why is marriage allowed between religions? and why are other religions who do not necessarily believe in one god or any god allowed to marry? and why is marriage recognized by the government at all then?

Obviously the definition of the word “Marriage” has changed drastically since biblical times. Besides the fact that it was defined by man in the first place. And even if God intended for marriage to be a man and a woman, that is just it, he intended, even he may not have been able to predict that 2 men or 2 women would fall in love given the right circumstances. And God gave us the Earth, and wants us to live good lives, being gay has nothing to with good or evil.

A lot of you just need to sit back for a second and think, How is Gay Marriage really hurting me directly? IT DOESN’T!, even if God does not condone Gay Marriage, then as long as you don’t marry someone of the same sex God will love you according to your beliefs, it would be foolish for God to punish you for allowing others to be happy.

So just to let you all no if you don’t change your ways you are going to end up in hell along with the devil the kkk.
The rapest the ones who stills kills liers hater all of that and more. Here is what god said about gay marriage.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
—Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)

When God created a partner for Adam He created Eve—not another Adam. This means that perfect partnership requires some level of difference as well as a level of similarity so great that Adam could cry out loudly, ”This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”. Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is the normal method of male/female bonding (emotionally and physically) because it corresponds to the design of our bodies and because it is the normal means by which offspring are created.
