Speaking of false memories...
Over one-third of the volunteers in a study on false memory swore they remember being hugged by somebody in a Bugs Bunny suit during a visit to Disneyland, reports psychologist Elizabeth Loftus an interesting phenomenon, considering that Bugs Bunny is not and has never been a Disney character. Loftus says she planted the false memory in her unsuspecting guinea pigs, and it wasn't all that hard to do. |

Alien abductees suffer post-traumatic stress
Demonstrating what one scientist calls "the power of emotional belief," new research presented at a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science reveals that many who claim to have been abducted by extraterrestrial beings show very real symptoms of post-traumatic stress syndrome. |
