Analysis: Fake photo. Obviously President Bush and his father, ex-President Bush, did not go fishing in the flooded streets of New Orleans while locals rendered homeless by Hurricane Katrina waded through waist-deep water nearby. This image was fabricated by combining two different news photos, one old and one new, to create a visual joke lampooning what partisan critics have characterized as Bush's "What, me worry?" attitude about the disaster.
The original photo of Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. on a fishing trip was taken off the coast of Kennebunkport, Maine by Associated Press photographer Steven Senne on Saturday, June 14, 2003.
