Missing Child: Dong-Yue Cecilia Zhang

Comments:  Sadly, Cecilia Zhang's body was discovered in a ravine near Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, March 27, 2004. The former missing-person case is now a homicide investigation.

Nine-year-old Zhang disappeared from her home in the North York borough of Toronto the night of October 19, 2003. Investigators quickly concluded she had been abducted and issued a province-wide Amber Alert. Among the leads they followed were two pay phone calls placed to the Zhang residence from outside the area shortly before Cecilia Zhang was reported missing. However, no ransom demand was ever received, nor were authorities able to establish the motive or identity of the abductors despite a standing $50,000 reward for information leading to the child's safe return.

Members of the public with information about this case are asked to call Toronto Crime Stoppers at 416-608-7260 or 800-222-TIPS(8477).
