FW: Have you seen Jewel Mahavia Strong - missing 3 year old?
|
Comments: Three-year-old Jewel Mahavia Strong was reported missing after a Memorial Day beach outing in Panama City, Florida with her family in May 2006. It was initially believed that she had drowned, and local authorities pronounced her lost at sea after searching unsuccessfully for her body for more than a week.
A year later, a Jacksonville resident reported seeing a child fitting Jewel Strong's description in the company of three adults at a local restaurant. After viewing surveillance video, her family became convinced that the child was, in fact, Jewel Strong, and launched an effort in conjunction with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to locate her. Though the NCMEC lists Jewel Strong as "lost, injured, missing," a website set up by her family lists her as "abducted."
As of February 2008, her whereabouts are still unknown.
Persons with information pertaining to the case are asked call The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST (843-5678).
