CONTRARY to what is claimed in the forwarded email, the painful-looking footwear depicted in the attached photos does not represent "the latest fashions from Japan and Italy."
The shoes themselves are perfectly real, however, and fall under the general heading of "fetish wear." One Internet shopping guide describes the product category thus:
