YOU GUYS ARE GONNA LOVE THIS!!! Wanted to let you all know that Tuesday, April 27th, is FREE CONE DAY at ALL Ben and Jerry's stores across the US, granted if there is one near you. Most stores should be open from 12-9 PM on that day, and basically, it's FREE ICE CREAM ALL DAY LONG; eat till your heart's content. This is a good chance to try out all those flavors that you have never tried before and were afraid to try because of the funky names. Take your friends, coworkers, lovers, your pets. Hey, I've seen customers coming into Ben & Jerry's store in Malibu and ordering a separate cone for their dogs; it happens. This time it's FREE. ALL THEY ASK IS TO LEAVE A TIP FOR THE SCOOPERS whereever you are. It's a rough, long day, so tips are nice. This free stuff is only at the scoop shops; you can't get free pints from the market; sorry... Well, enjoy the date and make sure to take some time to get some ice cream. Enjoy everyone..... oh, there are some new flavors that just came out this year....check them out. They are: Remember, who cares about all the fat and calories; eat to your heart's desire. |

It all began in 1978 in a dilapidated former gas station in Burlington, Vermont. Ben & Jerry renovated it themselves with a lot of help from their friends. The first year was a wild one. On the shop's first year anniversary, in May of 1979, Ben & Jerry held the first Free Cone Day. They scooped free ice cream, all day, to everyone who stopped by. It was their way of celebrating having survived their first year in business as much as it was their way of thanking their customers for eating all the stuff they made that year.
