Subject: Bush Said Hey Guys, You probably heard President Bush when he said this on TV.. but in case you didn't. I thought it was hilarious. He said," I'm gonna be patient, about this thing, and not go firing a 2 million dollar missile at a 10 dollar tent just to hit a camel in the butt". |
Comments: Yes, President Bush did utter a statement closely resembling this, according to Howard Fineman in the September 24, 2001 issue of Newsweek.
The exact quote is this:
"When I take action, I’m not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It’s going to be decisive."
He was speaking to a group of senators in the Oval Office two days after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. "Winston Churchill might not have used those words, but he’d have loved the sentiment," said Newsweek of the Bush pronouncement.
I don't know about Churchill, but John Wayne would have loved it for sure.
