Mutant Chickens in the News

Updated 01/29/00 - The latest KFC rumor is getting bemused coverage in the international press.

According to The Mirror, a newspaper in London, KFC has been targeted by political groups opposed to genetically modified foodstuffs. The article quotes a KFC representative saying: "We are by no means the first company to be subjected to such aggressive and unsubstantiated attack. We have a whole range of methods and procedures designed to combat cyber terrorism which in the past have proved to be very effective."

By contrast, coverage in the U.S. has been glossy, with no mention of "cyber terrorism" or plans for a PR counterattack by KFC.
