It was always bullying in our small town. We had to take tennis shoes to school for gym class and our mothers always tied the laces together. It was simple for a bigger bully kid to take your tennis shoes away from you and toss them high up in a tree or over a power line. You didn't have a chance of getting them down and got a lecture when you came home without them.
