How to Submit a Suspected Hoax / Rumor / Urban Legend

By David Emery, About.com

We welcome — in fact, we depend on — your submissions of suspected urban legends, email rumors and Net hoaxes, even if you're not sure they qualify as folklore. Submitted texts will be investigated and posted on the site as time permits.

Please note that due to the volume of correspondence we receive, it's impossible to answer most "Is this true or false?" questions via email. Please check our Current Netlore page or type relevant words into the Search box at the top of any page on the site for a listing of common hoaxes and rumors.

The best way to submit a suspicious text for investigation is to forward the entire message, as is, to this address: urbanlegends.guide@about.com

Alternatively, click here to open a blank email form into which you can paste the text.

Thanks for contributing!
