THOUGH IT looks like something out of a surrealist painting (or a Disney cartoon), this is a real building located in the Rezydent Shopping Center in Sopot, Poland. It's known, fittingly, as Krzywy Domek ("Crooked House").
Behind the "dancing facade" that has proven to be a popular tourist attraction since its opening in 2004 can be found restaurants, bars, shops and commercial office space. It was designed by the architectural firm of Szotyńscy & Zaleski.
When these images first went viral in 2005 there wasn't much information available about it in English, but as of 2010 the Crooked House had become famous the world over. It was featured on the popular blog Boing Boing on Dec. 7, 2010.
